5 sensual perfumes that are perfect for fall

As the seasons change, it’s important to switch up your fragrance in addition to your fashion. While it’s common to switch to a rich, mysterious scent for fall and winter, this year we’re in favour of the light, airy and subtly sweet floral perfumes that have hit the shelves in recent months. After all, fall in Hong Kong is still warm and breezy, so there’s no need to wear a fragrance that’s too heavy just yet. For a fresh new smell that will switch up your routine, take a look at five of our favourite new sensual scents.

Chanel No.5 L'eau

The latest version of Chanel’s legendary perfume line, Chanel N°5 L’Eau was developed by Olivier Polge, who worked for three years to finally achieve this light and fresh take on the original sophisticated scent for women. Its prominent note is that of May rose from Grasse, with top notes of lemon, mandarin, orange, neroli and aldehydes; rose, jasmine and a new fraction of ylang ylang for middle notes, and bottom notes of vetiver and cedar that are accompanied by hints of soft and cottony musk.

Available in 50ml (HK$930) and 100ml (HK$1,350).

McQueen Eau de Parfum

A new concentration of McQueen Parfum released earlier this year, McQueen Eau de Parfum is made from the precious essence of three unique florals that only bloom at night: sambac jasmine, tuberose and ylang ylang. Those are combined with pink pepper and vetiver to create a mellow, subtly mysterious and opulent note that gradually asserts itself.

Available in 30ml (HK$650), 50ml (HK$950) and 75ml (HK$1,195).

Loewe 001 Woman Eau de Parfum

The brand’s first fragrances under the creative direction of designer Jonathan Anderson, the warm and powerful Loewe 001 Woman is part of a new fragrance pair — one for men, this one for women — that was inspired by romantic nights. Its top notes begin with a bright, sparkling citrus note of Italian bergamot, Calabria tangerine and pink pepper; the middle notes combine irresistible Egyptian jasmine and the purity of clean linen with Indian sandalwood; and it ends with a final luxurious note of amber and a hint of vanilla.

Available in 50ml (HK$740) and 100ml (HK$1,160).

Coach The Fragrance

A new version of a scent from 2008 that was discontinued, Coach The Fragrance was developed by perfumers Anne Flipo and Juliette Karagueuzoglou, who took inspiration from the spontaneous energy and downtown style of New York City. The result is a new scent that’s spirited and sparkling, yet sensual and feminine, with combinations of raspberry leaves, pink pepper, pear, rose, gardenia, cyclamen, suede musk and sandalwood.

Available in 30ml, 50ml and 90 ml (prices TBC).

Chloé Fleur de Parfum

The work of perfumers Michel Almairac and Mylene Alran, Chloé Fleur de Parfum — the latest adaptation of the brand’s Eau de Parfum from 2008 — gives a delicate, powdery scent that creates a naturally elegant and sensual veil that covers the skin. In the effort to recall the essence of a fully blooming flower, the perfume allegedly contains rose pistil and has fruity and spicy undertones with additional components including fresh verbena blossom, cherry blossom and powdery rice.

Available in 30ml (HK$580), 50ml (HK$835) and 75ml (HK$1020).
