Burberry’s new campaign stars Chinese singer Kris Wu

Titled as the “Kris Wu edit”, Burberry new campaign stars Kris Wu as their new brand ambassador, following the footsteps of siblings Alex and Emma Watson, as well as internationally renowned models Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn.

Kris is definitely no stranger to the fashion world, as he already graced the cover of Vogue China alongside with Kendall Jenner back in July 2015, as well as closing the brand’s menswear (his runway debut) show in January this year.

Revealed on house’s Sina Weibo, WeChat and YouKu platforms on the morning of 17th November, the new campaign was shot in London, comprising of five curated looks that are the Chinese megastar’s favourite.

The five looks consist of the maison’s current collections, including their iconic trench coat in English-woven cotton gabardine, a cashmere coat, striped athleisure knitwear, the iconic Scottish-woven cashmere scarf, and accessories including a monogrammed version of The Rucksack.

“Kris is a modern day artist who works seamlessly across all these different worlds from music, to fashion to film, which really resonates with us as a brand and which inspired me to want to work together,” says Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s Chief Creative and Chief Executive Officer. “He loves fashion and takes a lot of pleasure in dressing well, so it really has been a privilege to work with Kris on this very special collaboration.”

Bringing a cool edge with the right mix of utilitarian, deep earthy hues and sports luxe, the overall collection retains the inherent roots with their iconic check motifs in a younger, modern twist.
