“Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking,” we know you’ve practised your most convincing Miranda Priestly impersonation a hundred times — and you finally have an excuse to use it.
But wait, the trend for spring goes beyond just cheerful, bright florals. In fact, it is quite the contrary. This spring sees florals going darker and bigger. We’ve spotted larger-than-life moody botanical prints or murals everywhere — such as shop window displays, popular Instagram feeds, and chic interiors. Think beautiful Dutch Golden Age paintings or something out of a Lana Del Rey album cover instead of grandma’s cottage walls.
Personally, we love the ethereal trend, which signifies the transition from summer to spring. Florals are showing up in deep hues on wallpaper, textiles, and even tiles. The prints are lush, romantic and moody — and we can’t get enough of them.
However, moody botanical prints aren’t the only trends emerging this spring. There’s more, and they’ve not been done to death (marble, we’re talking about you). From luxurious gold to fringing, here are the other spring 2018 trends to incorporate into your interiors — so you can finally say goodbye to the usual pretty and bright florals.
