Bulgari Hotel Tokyo set to open in 2022

Updated on May 3 2018

Another hotel is set to join Tokyo’s glitzy skyline. This time, Bulgari Hotels & Resorts has just announced its entry into Japan with the Bulgari Hotel Tokyo, set to be located in a large-scale, mixed-use development planned for the Tokyo Station area.

The Bulgari Hotel Tokyo will occupy the top seven floors (39th to 45th) of an ultra-skyscraper planned for construction in the Yaesu 2-Chome North District Category-I Urban Redevelopment Project*2. The lower floors will be occupied by offices and retail stores.

This comes as no surprise, as the building will be located within close proximity to the Tokyo station and financial districts, making an ideal destination for business travellers. Bulgari Hotel Tokyo also boasts a central and convenient location within walking distance to some of the best attractions in town, such as the Imperial Palace and the vibrant shopping areas of Nihombashi and Ginza.

The Bulgari Hotel Tokyo will offer 98 guest rooms in a variety of configurations — mainly twin and double rooms, as well as luxury suites. Its crowning glory is the extraordinary Bulgari Suite, the most prestigious room category in Bulgari Hotels worldwide.

The Tokyo hotel will also house iconic features found in most Bulgari hotels, such as the Il Bar, Il Ristorante, as well as a fireplace lounge, outdoor terraces, a chocolate store, and a ballroom. Other amenities include a 16,200-square-foot spa, a fitness centre and an expansive indoor pool.

In keeping with the other Bulgari Hotels & Resorts, the Tokyo property will be designed by Italian architectural firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, which conveyed Bulgari’s core values of contemporary design, magnificent craftsmanship and artistic detail to create living spaces reflecting the essence of Italian sophistication.

“We are extremely proud to be able to announce the Bulgari Hotel in Tokyo, as it will be another important step for the Bulgari Hotels & Resorts project. Japan is such a strategic market where Bulgari as a brand has been present for 30 years,” said Bulgari CEO Jean Christophe Babin. “Jewellery and hospitality combine perfectly to meet Bulgari’s clients’ expectations of a high level of service not only in our brand stores, but also when staying in our extraordinary properties offering luxury services in an environment which reflects the Bulgari spirit.”

“In addition, we are particularly honoured to partner on this extremely exciting project with Mitsui Fudosan, one of the leading Japanese companies in real-estate, while our uncompromising Italian contemporary style in hospitality will create a welcome addition and irresistible experience in the upscale Japanese hotel market,” Babin added.

The Bulgari Hotel Tokyo is scheduled to open at the end of 2022, joining the brand’s other properties in Milan, London, Bali, Beijing and Dubai. Openings are also planned for 2018 in Shanghai and 2020 in Moscow and Paris.
