Picture the whitest, fluffiest mountains and hundreds of snow-filled trees. The sun is shining upon the snowy summit, making the snowfall glisten from every view. Now, imagine brewing up a nice hot cup of coffee and taking a sip every now and then with the wondrous view ahead of you. That vantage point can now permanently be yours with Yu Kiroro.
This is the first ski-in-ski-out luxury condominium in Kiroro, Hokkaido and it’s the latest hotspot for holiday home investments. The freehold development property lies on over 6,000 square metres encompassed by mountain terrains and only 75 metres away from the chairlift to the top, making it the perfect home for the avid skier.
The private ski residence offers fully furnished units that start at one-bedroom apartments up to the four-bedroom penthouse. The four-bedroom penthouse starts at S$5,186,312, measures at 267 square metres large and comes with its own private outdoor onsen filled with natural spring water.
It also has a balcony that overlooks the landscape, allowing you to spot Mount Asari and Mount Yoichi from the comfort of your bed. The apartment was designed with Japanese craftsmanship intertwined with an earthy theme amidst the alpine view, to give a warm, homey, luxurious feel despite the winter breeze.
There is also a 24-hour English-speaking concierge, fully-equipped gym, all-day dining restaurant, an owner lounge, shuttle service to nearby cities Otaru and Sapporo, hassle-free ski valets and a natural indoor-outdoor onsen.
The private ski residence, that has 108 units up for grabs, started construction last May and is due for completion by end-2019. It is located in Hokkaido in the quaint town of Kiroro, known for its extensive snowfall. The condominium is also in between two historic ski resorts, the Sheraton Hokkaido Kiroro Resort and The Kiroro, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel. Although the town isn’t as famous as its ski-town-neighbour Niseko, it offers a less-travelled 150 days of ski season that lasts from December till early May.
Otaru City, known for their famous sake distillery Tanaka Sake Brewery Kikkougura built in 1905, is just a half-hour drive away. Otaru also has a large Victorian-style canal running through the city that hosts the Snow Light Path Festival every winter, illuminating the town with glass lanterns gleaming warm light against the snow. Apart from Otaru City, main Hokkaido city Sapporo is an hour drive away from the ski-home while the New Chitose Airport is less than a 2-hour drive away.
