Time to break out those blankets and savour ballet with the 15th edition of Singapore Dance Theatre's (SDT) highly popular Ballet Under the Star 2009. Staged at Fort Canning Park this weekend, guests can expect a night of enchanting classical and contemporary dance pieces.

One of this year's highlights is Pop!, a ballet pastiche set to cheeky popular tunes and is choreographed by SDT's new artistic director Janek Schergen. The 20-minute display of dance segments will feature songs from Annie Lenox, Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey and They Might Be Giants.

An old school national day favourite all also see its revival with Stand Up for Singapore, a piece choreographed by SDT's ballet master originally commissioned for National Day 2007.
