From now until August 30, everyday from 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., the Thailand Creative & Design Centre (TCDC) is displaying a selection of more than 100 different styles of footwear. Each set, in their own way, narrate stories of shoes and fashion.

The categories are Politics and Ceremonial, Sensual or Free and Easy, Sport and Nature, Baroque Rock 'n' Roll and Strange Creature. Ranging from the 18th century onwards, much of the pieces are from the International Museum of Footwear, the French shoe-making town of Romans-sur-Isere, and private collectors. There is also a section titled “Barefoot Siam: A short history of the Thai shoe industry,” featuring a selection of photographs, shoes and shoe-making equipment that illustrate the evolution of footwear, shoe design, and shoe manufacturing in the Kingdom of Thailand.

The exhibition is a part of the French festival,
La Fête 2009.
