A collaboration between architects and engineers from the SENSEable City Lab and MIT researchers, the EyeStop bus stop design is a sneak peek into future urban living ala The Fifth Element.
The design is based on large multi-touch e-ink screens, ambient displays and environmental sensors which allow riders to plan a bus trip on an interactive map, surf the Internet, minitor their exposure to pollutants and use their mobile devices as an interface with the bus shelter.
There is no doubting the clever technology and chic design, but how durable is it? We can't see this lasting much longer than 10 seconds in any large city.
