Climb your way to fitness...

Need a break from the ho-hum treadmill?  Break free from your usual exercise routine and try vertical indoor rock climbing. It'll strengthen those muscles you often neglect by making your body twist in ways it's never turned before.

Yes, you might get a few sore limbs and fingers, but those hurdles are completely worth the sense of accomplishment achieved afterwards.  Regular climbers attribute the sport to an increase in endurance and flexibility, and if you're working with a partner, the dynamics can even boost trust and communication.  Now how can that be bad?

Here's how to quench your thirst for vertigo at a moment's notice, and be showered up in time for dinner with friends.  Hotfoot over to Soi Klang Raquet Club, in Klong Ton Bangkok. Opened in June of this year, the club has an impressive 13 meter high bouldering zone, and facilities for 10 simultaneous climbers.  Those new to the sport can enroll in basic rock climbing courses in abseiling, bouldering, or top-roping.

While membership is required and recommended for regular climbers, you can always purchase a day pass (450 baht on weekdays, and 550 baht on weekends and holidays) for a quick taste of adventure. Be sure to call ahead and check available spots.
