Next Week's Plate - Wine & Dine for the week of July 5th

We see London, we see France, we see the traditional Flamenco Dance. It's a Euro trip this week as continental cuisine takes center stage. Let your taste buds wander with these suggestions.

Start the week in France, with Bonjour's new lunch set menu. For something relaxed and classical try their new appetizer, a traditional French Onion Soup, and your selection between Green Water Cress Risotto with roasted Frog Legs or the very extravagant Roasted Duck Breast with Honey and Spices, with Caramelized Pear, and much more. (THB 480++ per person). While you're seated, stay for tea. A proper Afternoon Tea Set can be had for a steal at THB245++ / Bonjour, 1217/2 2 Sukhumvit Rd. / +662 714 2112

Those looking to go on a sentimental journey hit Angelini at the Shangri-La Hotel Bangkok. Lilibeth and her band will croon you sweet ballads, jazz, and hit songs while you dine in style. It's all about Italian dishes presented in modern ways and innovative cocktails. Head down between 18:30 to 22.45 hours for the entertainment. Shangri-La Hotel, 89 Soi Wat Suan Plu, New Rd. / +662 236 7777 extension 6205/6206.

From July 9th to the 18th, Grand Millennium Sukhumvit brings us "A Taste of Spain" featuring Spanish Guest Chef Jordi Conesa from Barcelona. Fill your cravings for Catalan with Flamenco Dance, Spanish guitar performances, art, and photography. Major events this week is the July 10th, “Spanish Seafood & Sauvignon” buffet dinner with free flow Sauvignon Blanc, accompanied by live entertainment. Lunch at 12.00 – 14.30, (THB 800++) per person. Dinner at 18.00 – 22.00 hrs, (THB1,480++) per person, and so much more to come in the following week. Atelier, 2F, Grand Millennium Sukhumvit / +662 204 4023

Don't care so much about fanfare but still want your fill? Chimney through Tonglor to the Witch Pie Factory for homemade meat and potato pies, or a good steak and kidney (THB90++) if that's your style. Parking available for Irish folks only, you might make it if you fake the accent and wear green, but we're not making any promises. All day, everyday from 9:00 to 18:00 hrs. The Witch Pie Factory, 44/5 Soi Thonglor 1 Sukhumvit 55, +662 662 6664.
