Here in Bangkok, rooftop drinking has become a year-round activity. In recent years, sky lounges and open-air eateries have popped up everywhere in the city, leading to an almost overwhelming number of options to choose from. To help you avoid long lines, big crowds, and overrated drinks, we’ve compiled a list of the best rooftop bars for you. Whether you’re looking for somewhere sleek with expertly crafted cocktails, or something a little more low-key, these sky bars are the go-to spots for rooftop drinking.
Alfresco 64 – A Chivas Bar
Perched atop lebua at State Tower, Alfresco 64 – A Chivas Bar is the highest whisky bar in the world. Here you get to sip and soak up incredible views from the 64th floor — approximately 800 feet above street level. A collaborative project with Chivas Regal, this sky bar offers a wide selection of rare whiskies, including their very own The Chivas Exclusive lebua Blend. Fans of gentle whisky cocktails should try the signature Cloud 64, a refreshing cocktail swirled with Chivas Regal 18 Year Old, Maraschino liqueur and fresh pomegranate. Have your cameras ready as soon as this dramatic drink arrives, as it emits a fog produced by dry ice.
Sirocco Sky Bar
Just one floor down from Alfresco 64, Sirocco Sky Bar is easily one of Bangkok’s most popular destinations, frequented by visitors from all over the world. Way up on the 63rd floor of the lebua at State Tower, Sirocco offers unparalleled views of the city in every direction. The bar doesn’t require any reservations, so you can zoom up and enjoy stylish sips whenever you’re in the area. Here, you’ll want to order their popular Hangovertini, a cocktail specially curated for the cast and crew of the movie The Hangover Part II, which features scenes that were shot at the bar.

CRU Champagne Bar
For glasses of bubbly and jaw-dropping views, look no further than CRU Champagne Bar, which has stolen our Champagne-loving hearts. This intimate sky bar is renowned for its elegant Mumm Rosé Champagne, which is sold at CRU exclusively. The menu extends beyond glasses of Champagne to include a selection of bubbly-centric cocktails. La Vie En Rose is one of their most popular drinks, made with raspberry Absolut, strawberry purée and topped off Champagne. For a summer cocktail with an evocative zing of ginger, try the Bangkok Bellini, which is stirred with Mandarin Absolut, mango purée, vanilla, and — you guessed it — Champagne. As a bonus, CRU is on the 59th floor of Centara Grand, which is four levels higher than Red Sky.

Vertigo & Moon Bar
Nestled on the 61st floor of Banyan Tree Bangkok, Vertigo & Moon Bar is often compared to Sirocco, as they were the first two high-altitude sky bars to open in Bangkok. Situated farther up Sathorn Road, Vertigo & Moon Bar might not have Sirocco’s river views, but it offers better views of inner Bangkok and Lumpini Park. With a panorama of the city, this is a great place to relax with a cocktail while watching buildings light up as day turns to night. For a fruity summer sip, order the classic Vertigo Sunset, a blend of pineapple, cranberry and lime juices with just a swirl of Malibu.

HI-SO Rooftop Bar
Overlooking lush Lumpini Park, the colourful SO Sofitel Bangkok boasts a social rooftop restaurant and cocktail space named HI-SO. Aside from the semi-private cabanas, sleek metallic touches and a gold-tiled swimming pool, HI-SO offers a luscious array of creative concoctions. For a sweet, fragrant sip, try their Lychee and Rose Petal. A medley of Ketel One vodka, lychee and rose syrup, this cocktail is a perfect example of the sophisticated, straightforward style of drinks available here. If it’s hot — and when is it not? — the watermelon basil margarita is always a good idea.
Tucked away in the boutique Hotel Muse Bangkok, this resurrected 1920s-era speakeasy evokes its Prohibition-era past with secret passages. To enter the sky terrace, find the hidden door that takes you to the 25th floor. Here, you’ll find slate-grey domes, comfy outdoor couches on imitation grass, and leafy trees. The bar is led by celebrated mixologist Lersak Jamkadsin, who has curated a menu of inventive cocktails and some old-school classics. Try their French Martini, a delightful simple cocktail made with vodka, Chambord, pineapple juice and fresh lime.
Penthouse Bar + Grill
Penthouse Bar + Grill, inside Park Hyatt Bangkok, is the newest chic spot in town. The triplex penthouse sits atop Central Embassy, comprising a total of six dining experiences, including a rooftop terrace where you can soak up panoramic views of the city centre and beyond. For cocktails, we recommend you try the 250 CC, a mixture of Martin Miller’s Gin, La Quintinye rouge vermouth, La Fée Absinthe, Chartreuse green liqueur, Giffard lychee syrup and Aztec chocolate bitters. Note that the rooftop terrace closes during the monsoon season, so give them a ring before heading up.
Attitude Rooftop Bar
As soon as you get off work, retreat to AVANI Riverside Bangkok’s Attitude Rooftop Bar. The 26th-floor bar not only offers a sweet selection of cocktails, but also sweeping river vistas. Situated on the western bank of the Chao Phraya River, Attitude has a sleek infinity-edge pool facing the calm waters. Here, you can drift away in a pool with an ice-cold cocktail in hand, or enjoy a tropical sip and watch as the sky blooms into sunset. French mixologist Alexandre Hersent curated a menu of refreshing cocktails: Try the tangy Moulin Rouge, a blend of Absolut raspberry, passion fruit and grenadine, topped with prosecco.
Octave Rooftop Lounge & Bar
Swing by and savour stylish cocktails at Octave Rooftop Lounge & Bar located atop Bangkok Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit, which boasts stunning skyline views. Here, the bartenders conjure a lush array of inventive cocktails, particularly gin-based concoctions. For gin lovers, we recommend you try Octave’s signature cocktail, Bee Tranquil. The light, refreshing drink combines Beefeater gin with fresh peach, lychee and yuzu juice. With a drizzle of honey syrup and splash of blue curacao, the concoction is served Collins-style.

Red Sky at Centara Grand is located on top of CentralWorld, offering amazing views around Chitlom and Siam neighbourhoods of Bangkok. Considering it’s perched on the 55th floor, Red Sky is just as thrilling as Vertigo and Sirocco. Here, the food and beverage programs are top-notch as well, with a drinks menu showcasing rare whiskies and fun cocktails. That means you can enjoy truffle-infused wagyu tournedos rossini while sipping decadent wines. However, they also feature a selection of summer sips such as the Cinnamon Feez and Passion Fruit Martini.
