Ruffle tops are pretty last season but I don’t care. They’re just so pretty! Now that the weather is warming up, I’ve been on the search for casual ruffle tops. Emphasise on casual: this means cotton or something I can just throw into the washing machine, (thereby implying it should be cheap too.) Now obviously, a silk ruffle top would be much more gorgeous than a cotton ruffle top (-Rebecca Taylor did beautiful silk tops last season,) as silk makes ruffles shinier, brighter and move more fluidly, but I’m looking to wear it as casual daywear. This is the first one I found. The store didn’t have my size left–just when I finally find something I liked in Mango! (I usually don’t shop much in Mango because for some odd reason, I just never seem to find anything there. And this is echoed by some of my friends.) Though now that I’m staring at it more carefully, I don’t think I like it so much anymore. Thank goodness I didn’t buy it! Another ruffle top I tried on at Mango is this silk top. It looks pretty, right? Its colour is called ‘coral’ on the website, though it looks more like orange in real life. See, maybe this is why I never find anything at Mango. Colourful, ruffle tops for the summer! The one on the left is by Forever21 and the one of the right is by Mango. For something more ladylike, check out this ruffle sleeves top by French Connection. By the way, if you’re going to buy a ruffle top, do be careful of overloading on the details. With the scrunched up fabric on the top, ruffles on the sides and the bubbled shape at the bottom, this top just doesn’t look quite sleek.
