On 25 April 2009, I had a great opportunity to attend the grand openning party of "Nikki Beach Samui" with a signature 'White Party' themed launches. I believe that many people might have heard or a few have visited Nikki Beach St. Tropez, Miami or in any other 6 countries around the world.Nikki Beach is one the world's most recognizable luxury landmark and hot spot destination of the world's most beautiful, celebrated, rich, and powerful people. It's has established itself as the landmark for ultimate parties, celebrations, and entertainment brand and has added a beautiful island, Koh Samui in Thailand to its list. I have to admit that the party was spectacular with a beautiful and stunning crowd of over 1,000 socialites and celebrities with Thais and foreigners alike. Throughout the party, there were series of spectacular performances which captured the attention of many guests. By midnight, just on my way leaving, I saw beautiful fireworks and end with Nikki Beach logo firework lit above in the sky. It's a newest destination founded by Jack Penrod.
A Quality Time at Wat Sakaew Orphanage

Today, I, my friends, and my family just made a visit to Wat Sakaew in Ang Thong Province, near Ayutthaya to offer ice cream, cake, gifts, and other necessities to the orphanes during lunch time. And also for the occasion of one of our friend, Pad Rubporn's birthday today that she would like to do good deed by showing her care and attention to these children. We all believe that seeing others happy also make us happy. The happiness comes from the positive mind and attitude towards yourself and others. Nontheless, the smiles on the children's faces painted a thousand words. The joy that's brought to us when seeing happy faces was so amazing, yet at most reasonable cost, which I only spent THB 1,500 after divided with few friends. Who would belive that such a little amount of money that we can spare, together with our caring can bring along happiness to so many people. Therefore, with the term "Money cannot buy happiness" is not always true. However, again loving and caring need to be involved. All these children hunger for attention and someone who cares. These children were so well behaved, proper, and organized, and importantly so innnocent and charming. We can tell from the way they dutifully lining up quietly to receive their meal, from the way they sit and eat, which they only talked quietly among themselves and eat slowly. Before they eat, they were praying for us by showing their respect and gratitude by 'wai'. Their praying was deeply touched by all of us.This is not the 1st time that I get involved with Wat Sakaew Orphanage as I am also part of Party 4 Charity Organization (founded by Shannon Kalayanamitr and Natalie Glebova Srichaphan) where we organized 2 big events (Dare 2 Dream at Nomad on Nov'08, and DJ Benny Benassi at 808 on Mar'09) that were able to raise more than THB 200,000 for building lhe library for the children. Please visit www.party4charityasia.orgWe also would like to thank you to Donations From Friends Organization who had given us many gifts and necessities for this trip donation. They accept all kinds of donations, from books, old eye glasses, cloths, and etc. They are located just on Sukhumvit Soi 22 and open 24 hours for people to drop off stuff. Please visit www.donationsfromfriends.orgGiving is Wonderful...Try it You'll Feel Great

Facebook Etiquette

It has been a long while since my last blog as I've been busy concentrating on my new job and didn't find anything interesting to write about in the meantime. This time I'll write about something that is so close to me and mostly everyone else too as it's something that we are all encountering everyday which is becoming an important part of our lives now, well especially to me.It's "social networks". I am fascinated by the amount of social networks that are existing in the cyber world now. Needless to say, I am also part of one of these social networks which is "Facebook". I've started in Nov'06. As an early adopter, I befriended just about anyone I had some sort of association with.. A lot of them which is about 50% out of 2,076 my Facebook friends are 'random' in the sense that I don't have a clue who they really are. The rest I actually have a connection with all of these individuals in some capacity. Surprisingly, while the number is quite high, I actually am pretty conservative about my friend selection starting last year and declined requests from many unknown folks regularly. It comes with my social media maturity, I suppose. My two main reasons for social networks that I take seriously: For keeping in touch with everyone who has somewhat of a personal connection to me, and for business opportunities and for networking with colleagues. It has come across to me as a regular "User" that there's a lack of social media etiquette that's happenning and hope by writing this will improve it to a certain extend.- Abusing group invites. If your friends are interested, they'll join without your 'encouragement." And if they don't accept, don't send the group request more than once by asking them to join via email, wall post, or Facebook message.- Turning your Facebook profile into a pitch so that you can gather leads through your Facebook connections. Facebook is about friendship and not too much focusing on business that it becomes too obvious.- Using fake name and fake profile picture as your identity. I don't want to add you unless you can be honest about who you are. Why should I add fake identity as a friend?.- Publicizing a private conversation on a wall post. Well, I did that myself and didn't do any good to me, rather got me into trouble. Private matters should be handled privately.- Tagging individuals in unflattering pictures that may end up costing your friends embarassments or troubles. You need to ask your friends' permission before tagging this kind of pictures. - Here are the most annoying behaviors that I've been encountering; some people especially men repeatedly asking me to be friends regardless of how many times I rejected them. For men that like to collect beatiful women in their friend list, please stop doing so unless they are your friends. What's the purpose behind your request? Or it is just to be proud on your profile? And last but not least, giving rude remarks or comments on wall post or photo comments. Sometimes, I received some nasty comments from men that I don't really know. Please give others some respect!Remember that social media communities should be real relationships, real conversations, and such, they should be treated like they are real. It's not about a me, myself, and I mentality. It's about the collective, the community, and the common good. So don't abuse it and use it as a tool to flirt and allure others in such ways that you are taking advantage and being dishonest to your Facebook friends.

A Long Trip to Pai, Mae Hong Son

I always have a passion for driving. Will drive everywhere when I get a chance to. I drove in USA across the states from San Francisco to New York City before, and also from Bangkok to Genting, Malaysia. It was fun and exciting to explore each city and a beautiful scenery along the road.Last week I just took a trip to Pai in Mae Hong Son Province. It was a very long drive trip which took about 12 hours to get there, not including driving to Mae Hong Son for another 3 hours. The fun for me is to be on the road before reaching to any destinations. I've been hearing about Pai for a long time, so this time when I get a chance during my last holiday before starting my new job, I suddenly took that chance and went for it. Pai district is situated about half way between Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son, the mistly town on the Burmese border. For me, Pai was exactly what I needed and looked for. it was a breakaway from the Bangkok's craziness. Here I can really relax and free myself, not thinking about work or anything that would give me frustrations. I can be free at least for few days before coming back to Bangkok and concentrate on my new work and business.I experienced an utter and total relaxation once arrived to Pai, seeing the most fertile and beautiful nature in the north of Thailand. It was an exceptional experience that I rarely encountered. The people in Pai are genuine and warm. They are mainly Thai Yai (from Burmas Shane state) and hill tribes (Lisu, Lahu, Karen). In town mainly Thai, Thai-Chinese, some Thai-Muslim and some foreing residents. I occasionally spotted people dressing in their traditional dressing which I believe that these Thais and hilltribes are trying to keep their traditions alive, not just by dressing up, but also house style, food and entertainment which making Pai so charming and attractive in its original way.Eventhough Pai is just a small town but it can offer enough facilities such as a hospital, post office, internet service and etc. Moreover, accommodations and restaurants there are traditionally beautiful and cheap. Most of the resorts and guest houses are in town and the scenic most beautiful ones are along the river. In the proximity of the town are spas, and elephant-camps. Outside of town, there are several hotsprings, and a waterfall. Another notable attraction that I went every nights is the 'Walking Street' which can draw large crowd of tourists and villagers each night with live music clubs, beer bars, restaurants, shops along on the street. I visited many tourist attractions such as Ban Rak Thai, Long Neck Karen Vilage, Bang Ung. I've always wanted to see the Long Neck for a long time and they impressed me with their genuine smile and talent. They can play guitar and sing beautifully. I always wonder why they have to wear such heavy brass rings on their neck. So this time I did not hesitate to ask these women and the tour guide. But the reason for this behaviour is lost in history, but some believe the rings saved women from attacks by tiger. Whatever the reason, lots of people venture out to the villages to see the women for themeselves like me. Pang Ung is also another favorite pisturesque destination of mine. I arrived there at 6am and waited until the sun to slowly rise. That time the temperature was hover around zero, which when was cover with thin ice. It was like a Switzerland in Thailand. The total stay experience in Pai was excellent and memorable. Last but not least, I took a trip to Chiang Mai once again. This time I went to Vieng Kum Kam. This is an ancient site which is the remains of the city buit by King Mengrai before he founded Chiang Mai in its present location. I took a horse ride to expolore around the city and old temples, and learn about early Lanna history from a local tour guide. At night, I explored the Chiang Mai Walking Street, which was the longest walking street I've ever seen. The place was packed with tourists and locl people who strolled along the road to to shop local souvenirs and food.My northern trip has always been memorable and definitelyI will go back there when I have a chance.

The Charity Premier of The Elephant King

This night was just another special night for me as I was taking part in one of many charity events which I always have passion for. I iwas just involved in an event called "The Charity Premier in the Land of the Elephant King". This event was organized by De Warrenne Pictures which belongs to my good friends; Tom and Oscar Waller. De Warrenne Pictures Co., Ltd. is a motion picture company producing Thai Feature Films (i.e. The Elephant, Soi Cowboy, Nak (Rak tae, Winyan, Kwamtai, Butterflyman). In co-operation with The Friend of the Asian Elephant Foundation (FAE) presents a charity premier of the award-winning feature film "The Elephant King" starring Florence Vanida Faivre, Bank Pawalit, and Academy award-winning actress Ellen Burnstyn. Written and directed by Seth Grossman. I am so proud of my friends for their great success as the movie has won so many prestigious awards namely; - Official Selection at Tribecca Int'l Film Festival (USA)- Official Selection at Cambridge Int'l Film Festival (UK)- Won Best Film at Oxford Film Festival (UK)- Won Best Film at Sacramento Int'l Film Festival (USA)- Won Best Film at So Cal Independent Film Festival - Won Best Film at Lone Star Film Festival - Won Best Actor at Brooklyn Int'l Film Festival (USA)- Spotlight at Hamptons Int'l Film Festival (USA)- Tribeca Also, there was a charity auction of paintings which were painted by celebrities and stars who were Florence Vanida Faivre, Bank Pawalit, Amita Tata Young, Jeed Sangthong Kate U-Thong, Thaitanium, and myself. All of us painted pictures of elephants in our own style and inspirations. We were able to raise approximately THB 31,000 from the auction for these painting which all the proceeds will go to FAE. The name of my painting called "Mother and Baby Return to Forest" My inspiration came from a love between Mother and a Child and that they should not be seperated no matter if they were human beings or animals. And that the elephants should be released to forest, not wanderring iaround n the city and being tortured by human. Fortunately, I had a chance to meet with Miss Soraida Salwala, Founder of Friends of the Asian Elephant (FAE). She is a very kind hearted lady who has put so much effort to improving living conditions of the elephants since she was young. I really admire her spirit and her contributions and I wish her a great success with many supports for her foundation. Friends of the Asian Elephant (FAE)687/2 Ram-Indra Road Soi 32.Tharaeng, Bangkhen.
My 6 Days in Hong Kong

I've just returned from a long trip in Hong Kong. Have been there many times and it has never dissapointed me; the sensation is always there with a unique 'Hong Kong' experience. One thing I love about Hong Kong is the energy you feel just walking around the streets. On certain hours of the day the place is just buzzing with people. Walking around this Christmas holiday, the city's bars, clubs, shopping malls, wakling streets and in fact nearly every parts of the city appeared to be bustling. On Christmas Eve, I was walking on Wyndham Street on my way to Dragon-i where the crowd spilled out on the street with many policemen were traffic controling. The massive crowd was much more deeper than usual. The clubs themselves were jam packed that you can't barely move. I have noticed that these past many years, people in Hong Kong have come to care alot about what they wear. They have a strong sense of fashion and are more conscious of the international brands where the inspiration is coming from. Main streets are starting to look more like the fashionable avenues in key international cities. For example, Causeway Bay has become almost an eastern version of Fifth Avenue in New York. An upscale shopping mall, displays such brands as Chanel, Dunhill, Cartier, Christian Dior, Fendi and so on. There are even more choices of local brands tucked away on side streets around the city. Popular dresses for women in winter season are nice coats, jackets, hats and boots. When I was there, the weather was not that cool with an average of 20 degrees, but it was only the winter season that they get a chance to wear winter clothes. So almost everyone was wearing jackets and boots which are a fashion statement in Hong Kong. I have to admit that winter cloths and boots that they have there are magnificent as I am a big fan of these items especially knee boots, but wheather in Thailand is just not suitable for me to wear them. Overall, it was an exceptional experience as usual, however I would not want to stay there any longer as I prefer more of a quiter and relaxing city with a nicer environments where you don't have to face a hectic everyday.

A House Visit to Mr. Chuchai's, A Fine Jewelrer

One evening I had an honor to be one of the very few guests to attend a private dinner party at P'Chuchai (Mr. Chuchai Chairitthilerd)'s house. C2 By Chuchai is the featured Brand of Mr. Chuchai, the founder of "Gempeace by Chuchai." C2 by Chuchai is Thailand's premier jewelry and house of design, whose merchandise offerring is an extensive selection of differentiated fine jewelry. Not only his fame and talent that atttract and capture attention of many people, it's also his charming and sincere personality that attract me as well as many people around him. I've also been inspired by his determination to make his "DREAMS" come true and hope he can also inspire many others who are trying to achieve their dreams. "The Story of C2 by Chuchai starts in 1968 when Mr. Chuchai Chairitthilerd, the chairman of the company, was in elementary school in Bangkok, Thailand. One day in the class, the teacher asked students what they wanted to do for a living in the future. Unlike others who typically wanted to be a doctor, a teacher, a banker, or a pilot, Mr. Chuchai answered that he wanted to be a jeweler. The idea of designing the jewelry is inspired since then. At only age eleven he started working at his sister’s gift shop at Indra Hotel, Bangkok, right after his father’s passing in 1973. In 1975 Mr. Chuchai finished his elementary school. Unfortunately, he can not continue his school as wishes because his family can only support his older brother who passed the entrance exam to Chiangmai University. Mr. Chuchai had since then worked full time with his older sister. Mr. Chuchai promised to himself that he had to be successful in the business world. Most of customers at his sister’s gift shop at Indra Hotel are foreigners. He learned a lot from customers how to be a good salesperson. After 5 years, Mr.Chuchai proposed his sister the idea of retailing jewelry as he dreamed. Even they were not sure whether they would be successful, they decided to start retailing the jewelry. Luckily, Baht 1,000 revenue became 10,000 then 100,000 and more. Soon after, Mr. Chuchai decided to design the jewelry. Customers instantly fell in love with his exquisite designs. After Mr. Chuchai gained enough experiences in the jewelry field, he gathered all his savings to open a small jewelry stand at the Emporium Shopping Complex in 1997. He gradually earned his reputation through his superb ‘one in a million’ jewel design piece and also his charming attitude. Not long after, Mr. Chuchai decided to put his career in to the fast lane when he opened a full scale jewelry shop under the name Gempeace by Chuchai at Central World Shopping Complex in 1999, following with full scale shops at The Peninsula Plaza in 2004 and The Emporium Shopping Complex in 2005. Gempeace carefully selects raw materials from the finest source from all over the world. “Gems and pearls are always popular,” said Mr. Chuchai. “I love them all, whether its gems, pearls or diamonds. I like them because the endless varieties of designs and colors that I can play with. When I design a piece, I want it to stand out. I want my jewelry to make a person feels glamorous when he or she puts it on.” Mr. Chuchai continued, “Customers’ trust is what makes us who we are today. We have many celebrities who have become our regulars. Gempeace is unique from the rest because I design every piece, none are the same. In other words when you buy a Gempeace, you‘re guaranteed that it’s one of a kind; each one possesses a unique soul characteristic. There’s a piece for everybody, small ones for everyday wear to the master piece for special nights. In my shop you can always find your soul piece at Gempeace.” In the beginning of 2008, Mr. Chuchai has launched 2 brands, “C2 by Chuchai” and “Chuchai Gempeace or CC.” Mr. Chuchai said, “Gempeace is the mother, CC is the oldest sister, and C2 is the younger. C2 By Chuchai is built on a unique idea: Luxury does not need to be expensive. C2 by Chuchai offers unique and differentiated fine jewelry at affordable price. Mr. Chuchai said, “Our objective for C2 is to continue to grow our leadership position in our core business by offering exceptional value to our customers through supply chain efficiencies, an efficient cost structure and a high quality customer experience. “C2” is stylish and affordable. We have built a well respected consumer brand by employing an informative sales process that empowers our customers while offering a broad selection of high quality and differentiated jewelry at competitive prices.” C2 by Chuchai at the present has 2 branches at the Crystal and Major Avenue, Bangkok. Visit www.byc2.com for more details.

True Friendship is The Greatest Gift of All

I am a person who strongly value true friendship. I have very few true and best friends, but plenty of acquaintances or casual friends. My best friend is a person with whom I share extremely strong interpersonal ties with. I totally devoting myself and rendering my full support to my best friends in time need and crisis. I beliveve that true frindship requires these factors; the tendency to desire what is best for the other, sympathy and emphathy, honesty, and mutual understanding. There was just an incident that happpened to me which hurt my feelings to a certain extend as I considered that person as one of my close friends before. But I've been betrayed by her regardless of how much love, friendship, and trust I had for her. There are few lines that I've remebered from reading it awhile ago from the internet somewhere (I don't recall)."My life fill full with pure energy. Every day is a miracle.Accompany with true companions, manage a certain distance with the insincere friends, and avoid the enemies."Enemies if them understand one ways, they still tell fake stories to defame others, because they are enemies for all. Insincere friends, even if they appear friends with good understanding, when hearing gossip about their companion, they blindly suspect and distrust their own friends, and stepping away, because they are sincere friends for almost everyone.True companions, understand their companions by their own wisdom. When someone blame their friends, they will defend and support them. They will never accompanying those who blame their friends, instead they step away, because they are true companions for almost everyone.

Hidden Oasis: Bang Namphueng Floating Market

This morning I woke up deciding how and where I and my family can have a quality Sunday. My husband again, was suggesting many different places and I was striked and showed a sudden interest when he said "Bang Namphueng Floating Market" in Phra Pradaeng District as it reminded me of "Amphawa Floating Market" in Samut Songkram Province that we went few months ago and liked it very much. However, Bang Namphueng is so much closer as it's only 29 km from Bangkok. When we drove across the Industrial Ring Road Bridge and looked over to Phra Pradaeng District on the bridge, we can easily spot the area with green scenery which stands out from the city scenery nearby. It seemed to us like a "Lost World" or a "Hidden Oasis" right just nearby Bangkok. It was like escaping Bangkok without leaving it. Bang Namphueng is a new floating Market located in Tambon Bang Namphueng, Phra Pradaeng District, in Samut Prakarn Province. It's originated under the cooperation between the Bang Namphueng Subdistrict Administration Organization and local community in an attempt to release superabundant crops and, as a consequence, create employment and income to the community. According to the Tambon Administration Office (TAO) of Bang Namphueng, the floating market that's been operating 3 years now attracts an average 39,000 visitors a month, which 6% were foreigners. Similarly to Amphawa Floating Market, these 2 places are more popular amongst the Thai tourists as I can only spot very few foreigners there. Hopefully in the near future, they can attract more international tourists as they represent the beautiful Thai traditional ways of life and traditional Thai food which can not easily find elsewhere. The charm of Bang Namphueng is the canelside lifestyle of the local community. It's a new destination to enjoy shopping in the local Thai atmosphere in a rich green area where numerous plants are thriving. There are 100s of food stalls selling OTOP products, fresh vegetables and fruits, hand-made products are also available. There are variety of hot dishes, snacks and desserts at cheap prices. Thai tradional body and foot masage are also available which my husband and I had foot massage at cheap price, BHT 100/30 mins.Usually most people don't go back home with empty hands and empty stomach, just like us, we were holding many plastic bags filled with different kinds of food and our stomach were so full from eating along the way. MORE INFO:Bang Namphueng floating market opens on weekends from 8am - 2pm. Apart from shopping and eating, visitors can rent bicycles (THB 30/hour) for a tour of Samul Prakarn's green zone or paddle a wooden boat (THB 20/hour) along Khlong Bang Namphueng. There are houses offer homestay at THB 250/person/night.Getting there from Bangkok, drive to Rama IX Bridge and turn left into Suk Sawat Road. An alternative route is take the Industrial Ring Road Bridge and cross over to Suk Sawat Road. Then drive onto Phra Pradaeng market, turn left to Wat Songtham and drive for 5 kilo metres before turning right, follow the road signs, the market is a kilometre down the road. For more information, call the Bang Namphueng Tambon Administration Office at 02-819 6762 ext 110 and 081 171 4930. The Tourism Authority of Thailand at 037 312 282.

It's a school for orphans and unfortunate children, totally self-managed with no support from the government and entirely dependent on donations. The school consists of more than 1,000 children ranging from kindergarten to high-school level. All proceeds from ticket sales and 108 Punna book sales will go to building the library for these children so they can learn by themeselves and be more educated. It was the first party that our group "PARTY4CHARITY" had organized.
Thailand: The Land of Tears

I was hoping that I don't have to raise up this issue again as I already wrote about the political unrest 3 times in my previous blog already. But, Thailand now is getting worst or to a devastating point as they are many protestors running around like madness and destroying the country so badly. The situation is worst than the Tsunami (2004) and will take longer time to recover. The reputation and image of Thailand have been destroyed completely. It is sad to say that it has been done by our own Thai people, not by any natural disasters and etc. Last Tues 25, almost 3,000 forreign tourists were stranded at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Thailand is not safe anymore and I now understand why people have been warned not to to come to Thailand and now they travel to the neighboring countries. The PAD needs to realise that their action has damaged the country's economic vastly by effecting the tourism. This 5th Dec will be our beloved King Bhumipol Adulyadej's birthday. Is that what the Thai peole giving Him as a present?!Again, I will repeat what I wrote earlier as I strong believe in this and hope that all of us the Thai people will feel the same.Thailand has long been ruled by our beloved King Bhumibol Adulyadej. I believe that he would prefer Thailand to be the land of peace, freedom, and happiness. Here is the Thai national anthem after translation to English:Thailand unites flesh and blood of ThaisNation of the people; belonging to the Thais in every respect. Long maintained (has been) the independenceBecause the Thais seek, and love unity.Thais are peace-loving;But at war we're no cowards.Sovereignty will not threatenedSacrificing every drop of blood for the nationHail the nation of Thailand, long last the victory, HurrahHow contradicting it is with the situation right now! I am one of the many Buddhists who believe that peace can only be achieved if we first establish peace within our minds. The idea of anger and other negative states of mind are the cause of wars and fighting. We can live in peace and harmony only if we abandon the anger in our minds and learn to love each other.

My New Venture and The Amazing V Villas, Hua Hin!

There have been so many good things that are happening in my life recently. I must say that It's just a good beginning for the year 2009. First of all, with many job opportunities that have come along besides few event projects that I have closed the deals and few more projects which are still pending. I just keep my fingers crossed that I'll get them. Most importantly, I've signed the contract with California WOW Xperience Plc (CAWOW) which is the leading fitness center in Thailand with 10 branches altogether (8 in Bangkok, 1 in Patttaya, and 1 in Chiang Mai) as a "Marketing Director" overseeing all the branches across the country. I will officially start working there on Dec 16, 2008. However, sadly to say that I'll be leaving Dream Hotel where I've been working as a Director of Public Relations for nearly 3 years before the hotel openning. The main shareholders of CAWOW are Mr. Eric Levine and Khun Vicha Poolvoraluck. Khun Vicha is also a founder of "Major Cineplex" which is the largest operator of movie theatres in Thailand. He also owns V Villas in Hua Hin which has been operated for 8 months now and also Vie Hotel in Bangkok, which is planned to open in Dec'08. There is the possibility that I will oversee these 2 properties as well. Therefore, this past weekend I had been invited by Khun Vicha and Khun Gerald Dibbhayawan, VP of Operations of CAWOW to visit V Villas after seeing the beautiful Vie Hotel 2 weeks ago.I was there with my colleage; Ching, my assistant; Tudtu, and my family. I stayed with my family in 1 villa, while Ching and Tudtu stayed in another villa. For all of us, it was the best experience and impressive stay ever! There are only 13 lavishly designed boutiques villas which each features a private, pool, 2 bedrooms or 3 bedrooms, exotic garden, terrace, kitchen, and jacuzzi. It is just a perfect ideal for those that are seeking for exclusivity and finer things in life. Each room has a wireless internet on complimentary, DVD player with variety lists of movies, and own butler service in each villa on hand 24 hours. The best part of the stay was the premium service that we all received from the time of stepping out of the car upon arrival until departure. All of us were being pampered and taken care of exceptionally well. Everything was complimentary for us which included accommodation, food, spa, and mini-bar. It was really a relaxing trip and since beach is my favorite holiday destination. All day long, I was sunbathing, swimming, kite wakeboarding, horse back riding, and exercising in the gym. It just seemed that the trip was too short and that time flew so fast that I just wish that I can extend my stay few more days before coming back for long and hard weeks of work, which I won't be able to rest again until New Year.Overall, I must say that I am happy with my life, my family, and my new career ventures. Contact Information:Hotel Address:63/39 Petchkasem Road, Hua HinPrachuap bKhiri Khan 77110, ThailandTel: +66 (0) 3261 6039Fax: +66 (0) 3251 2043E-Mail : info@vvillashuahin.comwww.v-villashuahin.com

Women and Diamonds

I think every woman can be comparable to diamond as both are unique and valuable, beautiful and fashioned by nature, and perfected by human ingenuity and craftsmanship. On 12 Nov'08, I had a chance to take part in organizing a Jubilee "The King of Carat Diamond" event that was held at Thailand's most luxurious cinema, Enigma at Siam Paragon Shopping Complex. Jubilee Enterprise PCL is a local company with more than 70 branches countrywide. This brand has proudly received an HRD (Hoge Raad voor Diamant) Diamond Certicate from Antwerp, Belgium which guarantees that the diamond is indeed real with grade A quality. It is managed by Viroj Pornprakit, CEO, and Unyarat Pornprakit, CFO of the company. There were many celebrities taking part in the fashion show namely former Ms. Universe; Natalie Glebova-Srichaphan, famous Thai actress; Sririta Jensen, socialites; Dr. Krittika Kongsompong, Marisara Chantarat, Nitra Kitiyakara, Sutassanee Kunplin, Sasivimol Na Ranong, Tiplada Poonsiriwong, Kornkanok Yongsakul, Nunthavimol Polpanich, MR Mannaruemas Yukol, and myself. We all were wearing HRD masks and Jubilee diamonds in our beautiful black evening dresses for the fashion show. The highlight of the event was a finale done by Natalie holding 10 carat diamonds value more than 10 million bahts with HRD Certicate. Another exciting part was the cake cutting by the Management of Jubliee. Piece of cake was given to every celebrity models. There was a small piece of diamond hidden in the cake which one of us might be lucky enough to find it. Eventually, the lucky person was Dr. Krittika who found a diamond in her cake. My main responsibilites for this event were doing PR, inviting celebrity models for the fashion show, celebrity guests to attend the event, and press. More than expected, there were about 100 press from various TV programs, magazines, newspapers, and websites attended the event to cover the story. The big Enigma theatre suddenly was packed with press and guests. I would say that the overall event went succesfully well with co-operation from team members. And nevertheless, thank you to all the models, guests, and press who were the main part of this success.

Do You Believe in Yourself?

Every human being, regardless of race, creed, sex or spiritual belief, has the incredible capacity to accomplish far beyond their wildest dreams, only if they believe in themselves.I am considered to be a successful career woman with a good life and a happy family. I think many people envy me or jealous of me because they think I am talented, smart and lucky. However, the truth is I am a successful person, not because that I am smarter or luckier than anyone, it was just that I 'never quit' to follow my dreams and make them come true. I strongly believe in myself and have confident in myself, and know my true potential which lead me to successfulness and happiness in life.It is essential to take some time and actually inventory what I believe about my talents and capabilities - these beliefs were given to me through society. The people who have achieve the most in their lives were those who had big plans and ideas and who never able cast off the negativity of other people. I simply have to not care anymore about what others think and as per my favorite quote from Nike, "Just do it".I am just like everybody else, there were times that I failed and felt down in life, however I never quit. I felt thankful for my mistakes, as they gave me the opportunities to learn. We are all human and have flaws. Even if our physically appearance, unique personality, or social skills aren't what we wish we were, that doesn't have to stop us from being confident and believe in ourselves. We are beautiful inside and out in our individualistic way, so we should love ourselves unconditionally.I take very good care of myself, eat a healthy diet and get enough exercise, and never abuse my body. Confidence comes from within. I often take time to reflect my life and do some emotional maintenance. In order to be confident and believe in myself, I must value myself and understand that my well-being is important.I don't worry about anything but being myself and living life to the fullest!Enjoy the moment. Live the moment. Forget the past and think about the future. And "Do you believe in yourself?"

Emotional Affair!

I'm certain that everyone of us has been involved or experienced relationship with spouse or partner whatsoever. The point is that most of us have not been 100% faithful to their spouse/partner. I'm writing this not based on mine or anyone else's experiences, but in general in which most of us have to admit that it's true and that we've been through this at some points. It's the fact of denial or admitting the guiltiness, fault, and the sense of morality that is keeping it a 'secret'.There are many kinds of relationship which most of us have been through whether it's a monogamous relationship (i pray for those of you who are), polygamous relationship, emotional affair, sexual affair, cyber affair, open relationship, infedelity, or adultery and etc. Some people might have done all of the above, and some just done one or a few. I believe that the most dangerous relationship is the "emotional affair" as it gradually transforms from freindship to a seriuos relationship" which can deeply hurt and effect the real 'partner'. An 'emotional affair' begins when one partner has extremely close relationship with a person of the opposite sex that transforms from regular friendship to something more. Instead of just hanging around platonically, the partner begins having feelings of attraction for the other person. Generally they begin talking intimately about things they should only be discussing with their significant other. They flirt with the other person, and behave inappropriately. They may even withdraw from their partner. Unlike a 'cyber affair' they do see the other person, sometimes having lunches or dinners or even just meeting somewhere for coffee. They behave in a manner that is secretive and hurtful, keeping information from their partner and sneaking off to have private email or phone time with the other person. Most people think that since emotional affairs fall short of physical cheating they aren't really all that bad. But this is incorrect as emotional affairs can hurt as much as physical cheating and sometimes even more. Emotional affairs involve all the lying and mistrust that physiacll affairs do, and their damage often takes much longer to overcome.Individuals who are the most vulnerable to becoming involved in an emotional affair are those in a marriage or relationship where emotional intimacy is lacking, which they might undergoing emotional distant and conflict. The two individuals involved may have been casual friends or co-workers to start with. Or they may have met online in a chat room (which is very common). They felt a sense of companionship with the 'friend' that was lacking with their spouse.I think that to avoid this to happen, the marriage and relationship should be fixed immediately and make it a top priority. Understanding and attention to spouse/partner is very important so there won't be any emotional distance or conflict between couples.Good luck to all the couples out there!

Land of Tears or Land of Smiles?

It's an issue that I have to write again as I want to keep emphasizing the safety of Thailand to the prospective tourists and visitors who are reluctant to visit Thailand. Yes, it happened again – Thailand hit the headlines around the world with bad news and ugly pictures of violence. The natural reactions are the travel advisories from the embassies from counties where most of the travelers come from. Some advisories say that non essential travel to Thailand should be avoided – now that’s a bit harsh isn’t it? Of course travelers are advised not to go to the few street areas near the government house and parliament as this is where there people who don’t like each other and who need to show their tempers. But can the travelers enjoy their well earned holidays under the condition(s) mentioned in the travel advisories and with police and some soldiers in some areas of Bangkok? Yes they can! So let us give you a little information why you or your valued client can still come to Thailand and enjoy the holidays: 1. As mentioned above there are about 2,000 people who are unhappy BUT there are over 10,000,000 people in Bangkok who go to work and follow their day to day business as they do every day. 2. Public transportation is running unhampered3. Shops and Shopping Malls have their “Autumn” and/or “Midnight Sales” and awaiting to offer their bargain prices.4. Restaurants and Bars are open as usual and serve your favorite meals and drinks.5. Hotels serve their guests with excellent food and beverages, comfortable accommodation and most of all with good service and SMILING FACES.6. Except maybe the Marble Temple, which is near the government house all the classic tourists sites in Bangkok are ready to welcome you and to show off their splendor.7. The world’s best Golf Courses waiting for you to T-off. 8. Construction of big projects aimed to ease Bangkok’s traffic problem in the near future continue9. And, and, and but most important there are over 65,000,000 people in Thailand who are ready to welcome you in 72 provinces all over the country. During the visit to Thailand travelers seek smiling faces, sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, blue sky, romantic places, good accommodation and perfect service, but most of all relaxation from the day to day stress in their home countries and we like to assure you that Thailand is still the Land of Smiles.

GPS Car Rally to the History of River Khwae Bridge

This weekend, my family and I took a GPS Car Rally trip that was organized by Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Amazing Thailand to Kanchanaburi Province. The main reason we took this trip because it was the first car rally that used GPS (Global Positioning System). There were about 65 cars that joined this trip and their reason might be same as ours that they also wanted to try the GPS. We were amazed by how accurate and efficient it was. Last year, we had experience before from our Dupod mobile phone, but it was not as cleared and accurate as this one. The brand is "I Fox" which they were selling at the price THB 8,950. Another reason was because we wanted to revisit Kanchanaburi (the largest of the central provinces of Thailand, which is famous for it's historical attraction after the World War II). It was quite a long and exhausted trip because it took us 7 hours from Bangkok to "Royal River Khwae Resort & Spa" in Kanchanaburi when the actual distance from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi is only 150 km. During the trip we had to do games and activities in each destination that was assigned. Each car had to compete with one another by making points, which points will be deducted from each mistake that one makes. Unfortunately, we didn't won any prizes, however we had a good time and good experience. Next day, we were free to visit the "River Khwae Bridge" which has been popularized in numerous novels and films since the end of the war. Spanning the Khwae Yai River, almost 3 km north of Kanchanaburi town centre, the iron bridge is part of the 'Death Railway', built by the Japanese during World WarII as a supply route linking Thailand and Burma. An estimated 10,000 prisoners of war and 100,000 Asian coolies perished as a result of brutal treatment, starvation, disease and exhaustion during the 16 months it took to complete the 415 km railway. After that, we walked over to a nearby "JEATH (Japan, England, Austrailia, Thailand, and Holland) War Museum" which is the cemetaries bear witness to the carnage of the 'Death Railway'. The JEATH Museum bears witness to the suffering of those that fell during the construction. The 'open-air' JEATH Museum was built in 1977 by a Thai abbot in the style of the huts used to imprison prisoners of war. The museum contains bunks and pictures of actual soldiers who died alongside articles on the site and other authentic items. The result is and a picture of cramped squalors which gives visitors a genuine insight into the suffering the soldiers went through. "THE PHENOMENON OF WAR BRINGS ADVERSE EFFECTS TO SOCIETY."

Recently, I had a great opportunity to visit "Jesada Technik Museum" in Nakhon Pathom Province, which is Thailand's very first museum of exotic cars and the largest museum in Asia. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of vehicles there ranging from bubble cars, motorbikes, classic cars, tanks, humvies, helicopters, etc. There were means of all kinds of transportation from cars, boats, airplanes, and military aircrafts from all over the globe. The owner and founder is a business man, Mr. Jesada Dejsakulrit who had been traveling around the world and started his first collection from bubble cars and from there that he started to collecting other means of transport.Eventhough it is called a museum but it's more like a private collection that is open to public viewing free of charge. Very kind enough of him that he wants to educate the children, therefore has hosted field trips to many school children with lunch and tour guide offered. If you are classic and exotic car lovers, please visit this musuem and you will be surprised to see these collectibles that you can't see anywhere else in the world.Jesada Technik Museum is located at 100 Moo 2, Ngewrai, Nakhon Chaisi, Nakhon Pathom. For further information call 66 (034) 339-468 or 089-679-8778.Or visit http://www.jesadatechnikmuseum.comIt opens Tuesday to Sunday.

Spontaneous Human Combustion

The other day I went to see a Thai movie called "Khon Fai Look" or "Spontaneous Human Combustion" which was partially based on a true story. After seeing that movie, it still leaves me with a creepy and very unscientific feeling as it's something that really happenned. In the movie, they slightly changed a plot so that there's a scientific explanation to the cause of "Spontaneous Human Combustion" or SHC, however in reality SHC is still an unproven phenomenon. I became more and more curious to find out on the true story and the cause of SHC.From Wikipedia, Spontaneous Human Combustion (SHC) refers to the belief that the human body sometimes burns without an external source of ignition. There is much speculation and controversy regarding SHC, for it is an unproven natural phenomenon. Many theories and hypotheses have attempted to explain how SHC might occur, but those which rely on current scientific understanding say that instances mistaken for spontaneous combustion actually required a source of ignition. One such hypothesis is the "wick effect", in which the clothing of the victim soaks up melted human fat and acts like the wick of candle. Another possibility is that the clothing is caused to burn by a discharge of static electricity. The likelihood that truly spontaneous human combustion actually takes place is remote, due to the presence of water and the lack of highly flammable compounds and oxygen in the human body. History of SHCOver the past 300 years, there have been more than 200 reports of persons burning to a crisp for no apparent reason. The first reliable historic evidence of SHC appears from the year 1673.What Remains After SHC Event- The body is normally more severely burned than one that has been caught in a normal fire.- The burns are not distributed evenly over the body; the extremities are usually untouched by fire, whereas the torso usually suffers severe burning.- In some cases the torso is completely destroyed, the bones being reduced completely to ash.- Small portions of the body (an arm, a foot, maybe the head) remain unburned.- Only objects immediately associated with the body have burned; the fire never spread away from the body. SHC victims have burnt up in bed without the sheets catching fire, cloth worn is often barely signed, and flammable materials only inces away remain untouched.- A greasy soot deposit covers the ceiling and walls, usually stopping three to four feet above the floor.- Objects above this three to four foot line show signs of heat damage - Although temperatures of 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit are normally required to char a body so thoroughly (crematoria, which usually operate in the neighborhood of 2,000 degrees, leave bone fragments which must be ground up by hand), frequently little or nothing around the victim is damaged, except perhaps the exact sopt where the deceased ignited.Theories about SHC- Alcoholism - many SHC victims have been alcoholics. But experiments in the 19th century demonstrated that flesh impregnanted with alcohol will not burn with the intense heat associated with SHC.- Deposits of flammable body fat - Many victims have been overweight - yet others have been skinny.- Devine Intervention - Centuries ago people felt that the expolsion was a sign from God of devine punishment.- Build-up of static electricity - no know form of electrostatic discharge could cause a human to burst into flames.- An explosive combination of chemicals can form in the digestive system - due to poor diet.- Electrical fields that exist within the human body might be capable of 'short circuiting' somehow, that some sort of atomic chain reaction could generate tremendoyus internal heat.No satisfactory of Spontaneous Human Combustion has ever been given. It is still an unsolved mystery.

Again, I had an honor to attend one of the most glamorous events, which was "Thailand Tatler 17th Anniversary Ball" that was held at Plaza Athenee hotel on 12th Sep'08. The theme was "Venetian", so many women were dressed up beautifully in Venetian style with masks. For me, I didn't dare to go for the whole Venetian costume concept, but was wearing something rather of my own style with a Venetian flare. However, I had the most difficult time walking in my dress as it was exteremely long that I almost tripped over myself many times. The overall event was excellent with the many high profile celebrities attending in which whom I can only see in exclusive and high profile events. The event started from 7pm with the media and guest registration. By 8pm, guests were led to the Ballroom where gala dinner was taken place. MC invited Mr. Nigel Oakins, Thailand Tatler Chairman to deliver the openning speech. There were many beautiful performances such as Ballet, BSO, Calvachina Dance, Dance from the Argentina Embassy, and Schreiner Jewellery Show by Yafriro. Towards the end of the event, Khun Naphalai Areesorn, Editor-in-Chief of Thailand Tatler was giving a little speech and announced the special rewards and winners of this year which was the moment everyone was waiting for. There were many awards being presented:"Best Dress" - Khun Chitramontn Techaphaiboon for woman, and Poj Maj Gen Angkul Athorn-Phtai for man."Most Eligible Man" - Khun Chakrit Benedetti"Most Eligible Woman" - Khun Napaporn Bodiratanangkura"Most Stylish Man" - Khun Varavut Laohapongchana"Most Stylish Woman" - ML Piyapas Bhirombhakdi"Couple of the Year" - Khun Chairod and Khun Gloria Mahadumrongkul"Person of the Year" - Khun Tej BunnagThe night ended beautifully and happily with the celebration of all the winners.

Thailand Welcome Visitors, Please Come

As of today, the political stand-off in Thailand is inevitably effecting the travel and tourism industry, regardless that almost all tourism facilities and services operating normally and protests currently limited to a small area of Bangkok. The fact is that many prospective tourists and visitors are reluctant to travel when they hear about the state of emergency being declared and see images of violent clashes in media reports. If this keep continueing, it will certainly effect the economy and people's way of life in Thailand deeply.I've already seen high cancellation rate in hotels, in which the hotel occupancy in most of the hotels has decreased significantly. As one of the Thai citizens who is working in hotel industry like myself, I or anybody else don't want to see this to happen. I want to urge those of you who is living outside of Thailand and planning to travel here, please do so. Thailand ready to welcome visitors, despite domestic politics, which in reality life in Bangkok is continued as normal and as of today there is a minimal or no threats in the safety of visitors to Thailand. I only hope that the impact will be minimal if things return to normal soon. I am urging all the Thais or those that living in Thailand to help spread the news that Thailand is a safe country. With the help of everybody, I'm sure the tourism situation will be back to normal soon.I have an e-mail as per below from Hong Kong media who is living in Thailand that would like to share with you all. Tourists just believe about their news report and freighten to come to Thailand, including our Hong Kong people who enjoy coming to Thailand during their holidays. We love Thailand, we love Thai people and the King . We do want to extend our confidence to the overseas people that besides some problem which is actually happening, the country is still safe for visiting. As we are working in this country,we get good business during the peaceful time, and now there is some problem or bad effect happening,we do hope that we can do something to help the tourism business.Since 30 August 2008, we have kept on updating the latest informations in our “Thailandfans.com” and the forum in it, for all Chinese reading web fans..including Hong Kong, Macau, Taipei, Singapore and Malaysia, etc.Mr Roger Wu, our web master, “Friends of Thailand 2000” went out everyday to take the video on each tourists area such as JJ market, Siam Square, CentralWorld, Siam Paragon, Silom, China Town, Khao San, Grand Palace.....then kept on proving and explaining that the tourists areas are safe, not horrible as what the medias described in their countries. Those footage can be found in youtube.com and in Mr Wu’s own blog:http://rogerwu.mysinablog.com/index.phphttp://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=tnd1964&search_type=&aq=f During this period, Mr Wu has lots of communication with Hong Kong's radio, TV, newspaper and he just speeking and emphasing on the safety side of Thailand. We love Thailand and as a foreigners who love Thailand, we will keep on reporting the real situations of Thailand to all those Chinese reading people. We hope that the problem can be solved as soon as possible, and all tourists especially the Hong Kong people will come back in the very near future. If you are planning for big promotion for attraction to the tourists, please forward to us and we are most willing to post it on our web-site for notification. Finally,we would like to inform that we get the support from the TAT Bangkok office to get the most update information about the Political situation in Thailand of which we will post on the front page of “thailandfans.com”.Please check it for details." Yours sincerely,Grace KwokManaging DirectorTom Mark Co.Ltd.Thailandfans.comThai In Time magazine

After a long exhuasted week from working and partying 4 times last week, I have to admit it that by late Saturday night I was quite dead. So as soon as I got on my bed I slept like a baby. It was actually the first time in one year that I got a chance to sleep for 10 hours. I woke up around 10 am on Sunday and didn't have any plan yet, until I felt that I should get out of Bangkok, from the city scene abit and go somewhere where it's peaceful and relaxing. So my husband suggested about "Amphawa Floating Market" which he has seen from the internet. Since Amphawa is closed to the "Lake Point" cable ski in Ratchaburi, so we all decided to take this trip. First, we arrived at Lake Point, which we haven't been back there for 3 years already. It was quite a great feeling doing wakeboarding alright as I felt my physical strength is back to normal. After wakeboarding, we started to leave to Amphawa Floating Market, which we arrived there at 5pm. Amphawa is a district of Samut Songkhram Province, located slightly inland of the northeastern tip of the bay of Bangkok. It was 1.5 hours driving from Bangkok. Not far at all, comparing to how much differences the 2 provinces between Bangkok and Amphawa are. "Amphawa Floating Market" is nearly similar to a famous "Damnoen Saduak Floating Market", but we find Amphawa's atmosphere is much better due to it's authentic scence and nature which made us feel like we are seeing Thailand 50+ years ago. Yet, Amphawa is still relatively unknown to western tourists. We can't spot even one Western head among many hundreds of Thai tourists. There were many food stalls along the sidewalk, selling the kind of food that hardly see in the city anymore. We were so tempted by all kinds of food there that we ate quite a large amount. There were many houses along the canal which most of them were doubling as shops and restaurents. We also spotted many nice Homestay, which we've planned to come back and stay over the weekend. It would certainly be much better to see Amphawa residents' ways of life from an early morning without any tourists wandering around and to see monks rowing up and down the canel colecting food during their alms round. We took a boat along the canal in an early evening for 1 hour, it was great to explore houses along the canel, watching people doing their chores and relaxing. After we reached the pier, we decided to sit in one of the authentic restaurent by the canel. It was the songs from the live trio band inside the restaurant that attracted us. They must have been local residents here, but they sang English songs so beautifully well. The food there was great too and cheap.Overall, it was a fabulous trip. It was good to see something different once awhile.

When will Thailand have peace again?

Many days I've seen and heard news on local and international media regarding the political crisis that is happenning in our country. The "country" that what used to be called and well known among other countries as "A Land of Smiles". But not sure, if others still see Thailand that way nowaday. Especially with the crisis in the South that is still hapenning everyday. And now this!I've been thinking alot whether I should write about this topic or not as we all know that Politic is a very sensitive and serious issue as many people have their own opinions and beliefs. But, if anyone ask me "Whose side you are on?" In these circumstances, I cannot afford to stay in the middle so I have to say the "Government" and only hoping that the government can end this peacefully soon. Some "dumb ass" or who is also called "People's Alliance for Democracy" protestors (PAD) think that they are fighting for the King and the country by starting to brainwash many Thai citizens to protest against the Government. They are wearing yellow T-shirts saying "Fight for the King". I don't understand what part of their brain they are using by thinking that the King will appreciate their stupid and vilolent actions. Violence, anger, hatred is toxic. Their attackes are harnful to the society and malicious. The PAD was feeding off the hatred which exists still between it and Mr. Samak Sundaravej's predecessor Thaksin Shinawatra.Thailand has long been ruled by our beloved King Bhumibol Adulyadej. I believe that he would prefer Thailand to be the land of peace, freedom, and happiness. This morming when I heard the Thai National Anthem, it just hit me hard again with the meaning and what is happenning now is contradicting to the meaning of the song. After translation from Thai, here it says:Thailand unites flesh and blood of Thais.Nation of the people; belonging to the Thais in every respect.Long maintained (has been) the independenceBecause the Thais seek, and love, unity.Thais are peace-loving;But at war we're no cowards.Sovereignty will not threatenedSacrificing every drop of blood for the nationHail the nation of Thailand, long last the victory, HurrahI am one of the many Buddhists who believe that peace can only be achieved if we first establish peace within our minds. The idea is that anger and other negative states of mind are the cause of wars and fighting. We can live in peace and harmony only if we abandon the anger in our minds and learn to love each other.

Hip Hop Culture

Being a person who had been brought up in Yonkers, New York, I was quite familiar with the hip hop culture there to a certain extent. Not that I am an expert on it now, but had a fair degree of experience and I still find that it's very interesting with the hip hop music/dance, B-boy and Streetdance which are now booming in Asia. Hip hop music is part of hip hop culture, which began in the Bronx (near where I lived), in New York City in the 1970s. Predominantly among African Americans and Latinos. A B-boy or B-girl is a person devoted to hip hop culture. From my small research, there are four basic elements which form the foundation of B-boying. The first is "Toprock", a term referring to the upright dancing and shuffles that B-boys do when they enter a circle. The second element is "Downrock" or "Footwork", refers to dancing performed on the floor. The third element is known as "Freeze", refers to the poses that B-boys throw into their dance sets to add punctuation to certain beats and end their routines. The fourth and final element of bboying is the "Power" moves. These are acrobatic moves normally made up of circular motions where the dancer will spin either on the floor, or in the air. Battles are an integral part of b-boying culture. The battles are head to head confrontations between individuals or groups of dancers who try to out-dance each other.Street dance is commnonly used specifically for the many hip hops and funk dance styles also began in the United States in the 1970s, and are still alive and evolving within hip hop culture today. I recently watched a movie "Step Up 2", which I find it's amazing.Today, serious street dance competitions are increasingly popular, and a number of large annual international events are taking place around the world, such as Battle of the Year, Juste Debout and House Dance International. On Aug 7, I went to "Battle of the Year Asia 2008" to see the competitions that was comprised of teams from 9 countries (China, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam). It was taken place at Nimibutr Tower, National Stadium. The winner was T.I.P. team from South Korea, 1st Runner-Up was team Formosa from Taiwan, 2nd Runner-Up was team Kaiden Ninja from Japan. And The Best Show team was Formosa from Taiwan again. On Sept 6, on behalf of Dream Hotel Bangkok, I'll be organzing and hosting "4DUB Hip Hop Party" at the hotel, where I'll combine all of the hip hop music, B-boy and hip hop dance and street dance battle into this party. It should be one of the best parties of the year for those who is into the hip hop culture or for those who is seeking for a new experience. The night will be highlight with the live concert from 4DUB who is Asia's most played Hip hop group in Myspace. With over 1 million plays, they have taken the internet and Hip hop scene by storm. Comprised of Hydro Phonics & Shomori Pass, 4DUB brings a new flavor to Hip hop, wielding razor-sharp, dual blades of bi-lingual rap in both English and Thai. This is a party not to be missed!
My Trip to Amari Orchid Resort & Tower, Pattaya

This weekend, I and my family had the most enjoyable and memorable time. My friends (Yotsawan Chamnankit and Paul Naruenartwanich) and my family were invited by Director of Public Relations, Khun Dhaninrat Klinhom (K. Sunday) of Amari Resort & Tower, Pattaya to join the hotel's "Wedding Dreams II" event that was held on 16-17 Aug. We have to say it was one of our best trips ever, not only the hotel is beautiful but the service was excellent and remarkable. It was our second trip to this hotel after we were there last year for it's Grand Openning Party. It was rather a VVIP treatment that we received from the moment of stepping to the hotel's entrance until leaving it's doorstep. Being a hotelier myself for more than 12 years in all the big chained hotels namely JW Marriott, Conrad, Four Seasons, and The Sukhothai, I must say that the service here is equally impressive and standardized. All the staff from the bellboy to the management level, specially K. Sunday were friendly, helpful, and attentive. It's rather the human assets that have added the value to the property. From the moment we arrived, we were escorted to the "Horizon Club", or an Executive Lounge where we did the check-in. The Executive Deluxe Room that was assigned for us is fabulous, and yet modern with fully equiped facilities. But, what impressed us more was a welcome back letter from the hotel's General Manager, Mr. Dominic Stamm and a bottle of "Penfolds" red wine that was sitting next to it. The itenery was scheduled for us with compliments from the hotel.Mantra Restaurant & Bar was reserved for dinner for our entire group. We had one of the excellent dinner with the greatest food quality. When we glanced at the prices, they were considerably very reasonable or lower than many 5 star restaurants in Bangkok.Next morning, we had breakfast at the Horizon Club, the food items were limited, however the quality of food was far exceeded. In the afternoon, we all joined the "Wedding Dreams II" event which was joined by many top celebrities of Thailand namely, Khun Daranee Krittiboonyalai and her husband, Khun Byron and Cindy Bishop, Khun Edward and Khun Methinee Kingpayom, and myself. In the evening during happy hours, we all had few drinks and tasty snacks before going to Mantra for another dinner which was reserved for 10 of us. It was a perfect dinner, especially the Lobster menu was so excellent. It was like the biggest lobster we've ever seen. On our 2nd day, my family and I had buffet breakfast at Essence Restaurant which is located on the 3rd floor, and overlooking the swimming pool. The buffet here was sumptous with Continental, Asian and American breakfast. Again, the food taste and quality was great. After breafast, we went to swim before going to our 11am spa appoinment at "Sivara Spa" that was reserved for us on complimentary (again). My husband and I had one hour massage. It was very good and relaxing, along with the great service, yet again. After that, our whole group had brunch at Mantra, which Sunday brunch here is very popular due to it's sumptuous food and quality with reasonal prices.Yet, last impressive surprise, K. Sunday presented each one of us the vouchers for accommodation, Spa treatment, and Sunday Brunch at Mantra for all of us to come back again,We sure would definitely come back here and will recommend all of our friends about this great and lavish property. Lobby at Ocean Tower Overflowing with style and flair, the unique design of the guestrooms and suites presents an extremely tasteful open bathroom concept, which together with large windows, inspering grand bay views and the city, afford a light, airy and spacious atmosphere. All guest rooms have flatscreen TVs, DVD players, and tea & coffee making facilities. Horizon Club is located on the top floor of Ocen Tower. It offers a new level of personalised services, combined with the latest audio-visual technological innovations, in exclusive accommodation, with a picturesque view of Pattaya Bay. It completes with private lounge and reception. Mantra Restaurant & Bar (Bar and Lobby area) The stylish Mantra Restaurant & Bar is the hottest spot in town for dinner and drinks, as well as a fabulous Sunday brunch. An innovative concept in dinning, Mantra is not only raising standards in Pattaya, but blazing a brand new trail that others can only hope to follow! It serves a various mouthwatering Asian and Mediterranean cuisines. Opium Den at Mantra View of The Treasure Wall at Mantra Ice Bar is the place to relax and enjoy drinks in a deeply chilled atmosphere, featuring live jazz performances. Essence Restaurant serves International buffet, featuring delicacies from around the world, in a divine and stylish setting. Guests can enjoy the view of the pools and gardens, as well as open kitchen, and indulge in a rich culinary journey. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating available. Priced for buffet dinner at only 590Baht++ per person. Sivara Spa is situated on the 4th floor of the Ocean Tower offers and extensive treatments from massages, salon, to body and facial treatments. Freeform pool with swim-up bar Amari Orchid Resort & Tower, situated amid manicured gardens, offers superb accomodation and facilities, including a grand total of 525 rooms, a range of restaurants, two outdoor pools and easy access to both water sports and golf courses. The luxurious Ocean Tower experience offers stylish 297 stylish rooms and suites. The Garden Wing has 228 rooms and suites.
Our visit to an Elderly Home

In Thailand, August 12 is the birthday of HRH Queen Sirikit. The day is celebrated as National Mother's Day (Wan Mae Heng Chat). The day is a public Holiday and is celebrated throughout the nation as the Queen is considered to be the mother of all the Thai people. And on this special occasion, Thai Hotel Public Relations Association that I am belonging in as one of it's members, organized a visit to 'Baan Bang Kae", an elderly home. So all the members can get a chance to pay respect to the elderly women by taking care of them, entertainning them, and importantly, pouring water on their hands and presenting them with jasmin garlands while we receiving blessing from them.It was a short, but rather a happy moment for us all. We were singing, dancing, clapping, laughing and really enjoying ourselves together. Certainly, their lives would be much better of with their children at home where they can be loved and happy everyday. More than half of the residents have ended up here because they failed to consider their futures and ran out of money. And sad to say, the rest came here because their children didn't want to take care of them. Most of the Thai people are Buddhists who believe in the concept of repaying for their parents' goodness and usually live with their parents. But currently, a growing number of older Thai people as well as the changing Thai society, is effect by the need for more health care services and and social support. I believe that one of the ways to improve this is that the employment of senior citizens has to be promoted further, but it's more important than anything else to rediscover our respect for the elderly and to emphasize on our traditional Buddhist belief of repaying to our parents which this belief nowadays seems to fade away. I never realized how powerful a mother's love can be until I have a child of my own. It's an everlasting love that is imcomparable to anything in the worod. On this Mother's day, at my son's school. All the children had to pay respect to their moms and supposedly to 'krab" them on their feet. Each student took turn, until it was my son's turn that I bursted into tears and can't stop crying. It was the best moment ever. Likewise, I would do the same to my mom on August 12.

Education for The Slum Children

This Saturday, instead of going to the mall, watching movie, or eating in a fancy restaurant as usual, i decided to take a journey to a slum in Bangsue District with my Assistant, Tudtu who was telling me about this social work project; to be a volunteer teacher for the slum children. I didn't have any second thoughts about joining her. As a matter of fact, was excited about it.This project is led by a retired teacher who is known as "Krue Pu" or "Teacher Grandpa". He's already 71 years old, but his age does not seem to stop him from doing what he loves and that is "teaching". There is a small group of volunteer teachers who are willing to devote their time in the morning of Saturday or Sunday to be with the children. The age range from 17 to 71 years old. The children are from 1st to 6th grade. Most of the donations on food, stationeries, books, and etc. are coming from the individuals, not from the government.Being a volunteer teacher and as a matter of fact, for other teachers too that we consider this children our teachers as well. We are all teaching and learning from each other. The children teach us tolerance, love and friendship. They demand to be loved, they demand that you hold them, they demand that you love them. They're only human. These young individuals have dreams and inspirations, like any other children. They simply need dreams and aspirations. To give the children the spark that ignites a love of learning and a lifetime opportunity.Seemed to me that all the children were enjoying themselves as it is through this time that a large group of children and adults integrate, interact and learn from each other. I must stress the importance of good teamwork. Achievement came from people helping each other. If anyone ask me what is my inspiration to do this social work. I must say I have no inspiration. What I am doing are the things I want to do. Therefore, I enjoy doing them even without being publicly recognized. My message to those who wish to benefit society, is that people should not be forced to do public work. In practice, benefit to society come from action, asking people to volunteer for social work. When they experience the job and feel happy, they will stay on like me.From my small research, Thailand has a population of sixty million people. Nearly twenty percent of those live in slums. The slums provide homes for Bangkok's numerous low-paid workers. The slums became more crowded and more widespread. There were no space for the children, and no schools. Many of the children have no birth certificate. This effectively bared them from going to state schools. The pressure on slum families inevitably make their mark on the children. Many homes are "broken". Children may live with elderly grandparents who cannot support them, with casual step-fathers who do not care for them or perhaps with loving parents too preoccupied with earning enough food and shelter to spare them the care and attention they need.Social and commercial pressure combine to reinforce feelings of alienation: they are slum children and therefore no good: they will never have consumer goods or lifestyle they are taught to admire. The strong can hold out, if they have a parents or teachers who can show them better values and help them value themselves as people. But not all slum children can be strong and not all have parents who can give them what they need. They could find some of it at school, perhaps, if they went to school. What they do fine, in so many cases, is relief from the ugliness of their world in a bottle of thinner or addictive substances.Isn't it sad? I can only wish these lovely children (at least they are to me) a beautiful future ahead of them.

Pick-Up Lines are Lame!

It has been getting on my nerves for quite sometimes now as nearly everyday, I've been receiving different kinds of pick-up lines through facebook, e-mail, msn, and etc. So want to share with you women because I'm sure many of you have experienced it as well. And would you agree that most of them are so lame, stupid, and low class? I and my girlfriends have seen or heard lines in many different styles. One of the most uncommonly used is "Straight and direct to the point", which we find very offensive and rude. Which often, these men can get their ass kicked or a good slap. Something like: "Excuse me, have I fucked you yet?" "I love you. I want to marry you. Now fuck my brains out" "I miss my teddy bear. Would you sleep with me?" "I want to put my thingy into your thingy"Well, we've hardly seen or heard these lines anymore as they are too rude, but some idiots still use them though. Now, something like what refers to as "Innuendo" or Think about it ... "Can I flirt with you?" "Do you know what'd look good on you? Me" "There must be something wrong with my eyes, I can't take them off you." "Will you marry me for just one night?"Any woman would fall for any of that? No, I don't think so.Another popular style is "Flattery" or Compliments can be nice...Oh yes, this style I've seen the most. Something like: "Have you always been this cute or you have to work at it?" "I just had to come to talk to you. Sweetest is my weakness." "I'm not drunk, I'm just intoxicated by you." "Nice to meet you. I'm _____ and you are gorgeous!"I believe at least this style should work better than the first two.Lastly, just "Plain Lame" or just plain stupid "Want to see my HARD DRIVE? I promise it isn't 3.5 inches and ain't floppy." "Hi, the voices in my head told me to come over and talk to you." "Do you want to see something swell?"Men use these pick-up lines to make sexual acquaintance with women in anticipation for sex. But, some pieces of advice to men, if you still use these pick-up lines, you'll be ending up alone in bed most of the time.I suggest that you be yourself and spontaneous. Pick-up lines are lame and you would end up looking like an idiot. Spontaneous is the best. Just make a simple introduction of yourself and be nice to a lady.

HELLO! Life is Beautiful

Few weeks ago, I had an honor to attend one of the most glamorous events in Thailand which was the 2nd Year Anniversary of Hello! Magazine or what was called “The Story of You 2nd Anniversary” under the concept “Life is Beautiful” or in Spanish “La Vida Es Bella” with the dress code “Spanish Night Glamour”. The Grand Hall of Plaza Athenee Hotel where the event was taken place was filled with 500 top celebrities in Thailand in which many had been featured in the magazine itself. Many guests especially ladies were dressing up glamorously in Spanish style that suited with the concept. The place was neatly decorated with red roses and other props that it resembled the famous capital city, Madrid in Spain. There was a long red carpet that led to the Ballroom. On the left and right side walls, there were photo exhibitions of more than 150 celebrities who had been interviewed in Hello! Thailand previously, including myself. H.E. Juan Manuel Lopez Nadal, Ambassador of Spain also presided and the event and gave a rather touching opening speech. He mentioned that with the first existence of ¡Hola! or Hello! which was originated in Spain had made Spain more beautiful regardless of the complications that were happening within the country at that time. He also mentioned that while we are all having a good time here tonight, he urged us to think about those many unfortunate people around us in which whose lives may not be as beautiful as ours. He said that he believes that life is beautiful and fills with happiness, however it all depends on each one of us and how we choose to live our lives beautifully for oneself and for others that matters. Besides just a night of celebration and gala dinner, the highlight was the award presentation which was categorized in 7 HELLO! People Vote; there were HELLO! Person, HELLO! Family, HELLO! Wedding, HELLO! Home, HELLO! Star, HELLO! Couple and HELLO! Talk of The Town. I must say that the persons chosen to receive the awards were the most suitable and most deserved people. There were also performances by many celebrities including the Editor-in-Chief, MR Malinee Chakrabhan for the song “Mama Mia The Musical” which resembled the Broadway show from New York. The atmosphere was excellent. It was formal but rather a fun filled evening. Just a little background and information on Hello! that I would like to share with you. Hello! is the magazine that focuses on news and pictures from the world of celebrity, royalty, entertainment, film and music, fashion trends, and celebrity profiles. Hello! sells edition in Britain, Republic of Ireland, India, UAE, Spain, Mexico, Turkey, Russia, Thailand, Greece, Canada, and Serbia. Owned by Spanish publisher. Hello! was first published in 1988 and is the spin-off of the Spanish magazine ¡Hola!. Although upmarket and away from the real-life formats of the traditional weekly and supermarket checkout ladies magazine, media critics laughed at Hello!'s fawning interviews with minor European royals and celebrities. But the highly targeted format quickly built a readership of 2 million copies per issue.

My Beautiful Sport Days

This past weekend I spent a very quality time with myself, which was doing my favorite sports and activities. I spent 2 whole days in Pattaya staying by the beach, exercising and wakeboarding. If you have read my introduction, you would have known that I am a sport lover. Been doing sports and exercise since I was young. It is a part of my life. Not everyone is borned with tone and firm figures. Well, if you are then you are lucky. Most people have to make a strong effort and dedication to have a fit and firm body. I am lucky that I am tall, but still because of exercising and praticing yoga that has made me look the way I am now.I do weight lifting about 4 times a week. It is a muscle building activity. Weight lifting requires power, techniques, flexibility, consistency, and determination.Another of my long time favorite sport that I've been doing since year 1995 is water skiing and wakeboarding. Wakeboarding is a surface water sport which involves riding a wakeboard over the surface of a body of water behind the boat or a cable sling. It was developed through a combination of water skiing, snowboarding, and surfing. Competition began poping up around the United States throughout the early 1990's. Wakeboarding was added as a competitive sport in the X Games.Back in 1995, when I started this kind of sport, there were Trick Skiing and Slalom Skiing that were popular. I did compete in Slalom in women category and won 2nd place. Slalom means to use only one ski instead of two. Learning it at that time was a time consuming process, you must be an experienced and balanced skiier as Slalom skiing is considerably more difficult. Because it used a very high speed at maximum 55 miles/hour. It required a lot of strenght from your arms and sholders. In tournament Slalom Skiiing, the skiier must zig zag through the 6 balls and a set of exit gates. It's too bad that these kinds of Trick and Slalom skiis are not longer popular in Thailand.Nowaday, whenever my time allows, I would still be doing wakeboarding. I feel good when I hit the water and be in controlled.Lastly, I've been praticing yoga for 5 years now. The majority of praticioners including myself are primarily interesested in improving health and fitness. For a healthier, fitter body and mind. It again required an endurance, power, and strong will as they are many levels that the praticioners have to compete to reach advance level. I find it challenging as I have to compete with myself and reach a certain level.I encourage everyone to do any kind of exercise or sports for a better and longer life.

Is there such thing as "Social Smoker"?

Being a peson who attends many parties and being surrounded with most people and friends who smoke, it is very temptimg for me to become a "social smoker. Yes, I've always thought that I am a "social smoker" which such a term often refers to someone who doesn't smoke on a daily basis but may have a few when on a night out. I usally smoke a few cigarettes one night, then not smoke for few days or more afterward. It all depends, how often I go to parties and depends on the situation.I've never been "addicted". I just enjoyed a smoke and being bad every once in awhile I have incredible will power (some call it "stubborn") and only do what I want. But the truth is, there is no such thing as a "social smoker". It's either you are a smoker or you aren't. My last few cigarettes I had was this last Sat 12 July, and it will be the last night that I smoke. The reasons I smoke and this applies to many who are still smoking are that those "Social Smoker" who only smokes in public places like bars or clubs for the purpose of fitting in because everyone else is doing it or to impress a certain cliche of people. It seemed to me like smoking makes social situation easier. Whoever still have this idea, please change it immediately and totally quite smoking before it's too late. You are playing with fire if you say "I can be a person who just smokes a cigarette here or there", because you can end up being a regular smoker. Most hard-core smokers started out as social smokers. Nicotine is very addictive. My advice is if you smoke at all - stop. It has no benefits and certainly is still hazardous to your health, even if you just smoke a few. Every cigarette you put in your mouth and inhale sets you up for the risks of lung disease. Thanks to the new law that prohibits amoking in all public places, especially clubs and bars. With this, it makes it harder for smokers to smoke as often, as they usally used to drink and smoke and the table. With this prohibition, when it's too troublesome for them to walk outside, they tend to smoke less. Well, it happenned to me.I discourage "social smoking". There is no such thing. And I beg my friends to help me get through this.

Saving My Marriage

This is rather very personal issues and opinnions I'm going to share with you. I'm not an expert to give any professional advices to anyone, only wanting to share things with you based on my personal experiences and observations from many couples around me. I'm sure every single one of us has been involved in either an intimate relationship or marriage. It's a reality that we are all encountering whether it's good, bad, happy, or unhappy. There are stages of relationship that we have to go through. Start with the dating, living in together, getting married, staying married, and saving or maintaining the marriage. Now, I'm in this last stage, which is the most critical stage. Getting married is the beginning of a wonderful journey for every couple, however the difficult part is to maintaining and making it long lasting one.If you think that your marriage or relationship with your girlfriend or boyfreind is in trouble, then it probably is. However, most problems have solutions, just don't ignore the problems and issues in your marriage or relationship. If this sounds familiar to you, then you are in a critical stage.- There was much sleeping on the couch and in the spare master bedroom.- They were constantly fighting over the smallest issue - which only led to bigger issues.- Threats and yelling were an almost everyday thing.Yes, I've been through all of them. However, been trying to solve them with my husband. And these are the solutions or ways that we come up with as to maintain our marriage before it's too late.- Be honest- Support one another's goals and achievements- Respect each other- Share our dreams and goals on a regular basis- Laugh together and have fun together - Fight fair- Share our daily expectations- Continue to bulid intimacy both sexually and emotionally- Create passion for life and for one another- Forgive one another. Don't hang on to the past baggage and past hurts. Be willing to let go and move forward with one's life.- Continue to be committed to each other and celebrate our sense of commitment.- Be freinds with one another- Comfort, encourage, and affirm one another- Respect one another's need for privacy and space- Parent together- Deal with crisis and adversity together- Accept one another's differences and don't try to change each other- Keep romance alive in our marriageThe solutions might be there, however it will take time to achieve them before one of the happiness can happen once again."One of the myths about marriage is that marriage make you happy. Not true. Your happiness both as an individual and as a
