The Charity Premier of The Elephant King

This night was just another special night for me as I was taking part in one of many charity events which I always have passion for. I iwas just involved in an event called "The Charity Premier in the Land of the Elephant King". This event was organized by De Warrenne Pictures which belongs to my good friends; Tom and Oscar Waller.

De Warrenne Pictures Co., Ltd. is a motion picture company producing Thai Feature Films (i.e. The Elephant, Soi Cowboy, Nak (Rak tae, Winyan, Kwamtai, Butterflyman). In co-operation with The Friend of the Asian Elephant Foundation (FAE) presents a charity premier of the award-winning feature film "The Elephant King" starring Florence Vanida Faivre, Bank Pawalit, and Academy award-winning actress Ellen Burnstyn. Written and directed by Seth Grossman. I am so proud of my friends for their great success as the movie has won so many prestigious awards namely;

- Official Selection at Tribecca Int'l Film Festival (USA)
- Official Selection at Cambridge Int'l Film Festival (UK)
- Won Best Film at Oxford Film Festival (UK)
- Won Best Film at Sacramento Int'l Film Festival (USA)
- Won Best Film at So Cal Independent Film Festival
- Won Best Film at Lone Star Film Festival
- Won Best Actor at Brooklyn Int'l Film Festival (USA)
- Spotlight at Hamptons Int'l Film Festival (USA)- Tribeca

Also, there was a charity auction of paintings which were painted by celebrities and stars who were Florence Vanida Faivre, Bank Pawalit, Amita Tata Young, Jeed Sangthong Kate U-Thong, Thaitanium, and myself. All of us painted pictures of elephants in our own style and inspirations. We were able to raise approximately THB 31,000 from the auction for these painting which all the proceeds will go to FAE.

The name of my painting called "Mother and Baby Return to Forest" My inspiration came from a love between Mother and a Child and that they should not be seperated no matter if they were human beings or animals. And that the elephants should be released to forest, not wanderring iaround n the city and being tortured by human.

My painting was sold to Desho and Ratchadakorn at THB 6,000.

Fortunately, I had a chance to meet with Miss Soraida Salwala, Founder of Friends of the Asian Elephant (FAE). She is a very kind hearted lady who has put so much effort to improving living conditions of the elephants since she was young. I really admire her spirit and her contributions and I wish her a great success with many supports for her foundation.
