Received wisdom is that you put the spangles away with the rest of the Christmas decorations. Sequins, sparkle and shimmer are strictly for the Holiday season, right?
Wrong! Or at least, that’s what the big nail polish companies are telling us. Having cottoned on to the fact that their glitter polishes are all-year round bestsellers, both OPI and China Glaze have decided to give us a hefty hit of glitter especially for Spring.
Having enjoyed major success with the bling-tastic polishes in their Alice In Wonderland and Burlesque Collections, OPI has decided to see in the new year with some sparkle courtesy of Katy Perry. Who knows how much involvement Mrs Brand had with her nail polish line other than allowing them to be named after her songs, but the colours are all bright, fun and vibrant – much like Perry herself.

The One That Got Away is an attention-grabbing fuchsia packed with tiny flecks of glitter, the pale-pink Teenage Dream and blue Last Friday Night are certain to give you the sparkliest pinkies in town whilst Not Like The Movies is… wait for it… another metallic grey colour. Hey, we did tell you it was gonna be big this season!
Meanwhile, China Glaze continues its rounds of one-upmanship by producing a collection of not one, not two, but twelve holographic polishes made in every colour of the rainbow… and a few more besides.

The Tronica Collection is certain to please fans of China Glaze’s much loved but now-discontinued other glittery collections, OMG and Kaleidoscope, and every shade shimmers like those shiny stickers you used to collect when you were a kid (and maybe still do!).
Your nights out need never be dull again!
