A lot of readers and friends around me are interested in pole dancing, yet have many concerns and questions about it. The biggest worry most of them have would be “Will I be able to pole dance?” Like what I mentioned in my earlier articles in Lifestyleasia.com, pole dancing involves progressive learning to condition the muscles and endurance. In this article, I share some pictures of my students who are in different stages of the pole dancing learning curve to better illustrate the process of learning pole dancing.
Beginner level

Beginner level largely involves building the arms muscles so students learn simple spins around the pole. In this stage, the pole dancing students will also learn to trust the pole, and more importantly, themselves when executing the spins.
Intermediate levels
At this level, pole dance students will start to “leave the ground” and climb the pole. Engaging the core muscles, the students master how to gripe the pole properly while doing simple pole moves. Gradually, they will also become comfortable when upside-down in more challenging pole moves.
Advance levels
Of course, in advanced levels, the pole dance students would have cultured strong core muscles and improved flexibility. They will venture higher up on the pole (with proper supervision) and challenge more difficult pole tricks which mostly involve being inverted. Stamina and endurance is also key in these levels as the pole tricks will be stringed together into a routine.
Hence, pole dancing is not as difficult as many would think. With a proper and patient instructor and plenty of practice and patience, anyone can pole dance which comes as a good form of exercise! So don’t wait, come join us and pole dance to fitness!
