A first look into the third generation GALAXY S; it's a smartphone that recognizes the user's voice, understands his/her intention, as well as allowing users to share a moment instantly.

Before we get to the hightlights, here are some of the basic specifications tech aficionados would need to know about the GALAXY S III:

  • It's equipped with a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display.
  • Eight megapixel camera at the back and a 1.9 megapixel front camera
  • Powered by Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich

In addition to face and voice recognition, the GALAXY S III understands motions to offer maximized usability.

“Samsung GALAXY S III is an effortlessly smart and intuitively simple smartphone, allowing users to communicate and share their experiences naturally and instantly. Users will find the GALAXY S III to be a delightful companion as it facilitates natural interactions including voice recognition, voice commands, face recognition, and many other intelligent features,” commented Winston Goh, senior product marketing manager, Samsung.

The GALAXY S III provides more than your usual ergonomic experience with its human-centric design, as well as creative features that will boost overall performance. For instance, the three key features include Smart stay, Direct call and S Voice.

Smart stay allows the GALAXY S III to wait till the user is asleep; as long as your eyes are on the phone, it maintains a bright display. Direct call, on the other hand, allows the GALAXY S III to know when you want to talk. How so? If you’re messaging and want to call instead, simply lift your phone to your ear and it will dial your friend automatically.

Lastly, with S Voice, the GALAXY S III will respond to your words, meaning, you can tell it to wake up, answer and even take a photo. When your phone alarm goes off and you need a additional few minutes of rest, just tell the GALAXY S III “snooze.”

The Samsung GALAXY S III will be available from Q2 2012, in Pebble Blue and Marble White. For more information, please visit www.samsung.com.
