Known for comfort, fit and style, Nine West has been dedicated to bringing women 'the latest look' in footwear fashion for decades. Recently, Nine West's Creative Director Fred Allard was in town for his global media tour.
He gave us a sneak peek of what was to come and headed to Shanghai soon after his brief stint in Hong Kong.
On Nine WestWhat I really wanted Nine West to become was the ultimate destination for any part of a woman's life. Whether she's looking for something comfortable to run errands in, a cocktail party, her first date or to travel with, Nine West will have something for her. I wanted it to be accessible with affordable prices.
On the Fall/Winter collectionThere are quite a few things going on for later this year. One is what I like to call Boy Crazy which brings masculine elements into a femimine mix. The fabrics are rustic with an earty palette. Another favourite is called The Jewel Box with gold and jewel tones a prominent colour. Clogs will also be available, but this time with a military edge.
Must have piecesEvery woman must have a pair of ballerina flats which can go perfectly with a pair of jeans or even with the right black cocktail dress. A pair of elegant, staple pumps and sneakers. Sneakers don't necessarily have to be like gym sneakers, but flexible yoga styles that can be great for travel.
Thoughts on Hong Kong style Women in Hong Kong go through two phases. From their late teens to mid-20's, people here are very experimental and go for edgy clothing. But from 25 onwards, they develop their eye and there's a very refined taste that I am able to see. Obviously black is a very important colour here, but I know that every piece of an outfit is very carefully selected to make the look just right. As I'm French, I very much appreciate this. I think the latest collection by Celine is a great reflection of Hong Kong style.
