Despite the economy, celebrity architect Zaha Hadid is no shortage of projects. Her latest is a collaboration with Brazilian shoe brand Melissa, which make vegan friendly shoes from recyclable plastic materials.

Known for her avant-garde designs, her designs have become quite predictable. This isn't her first foray into shoe design, she recently collaborated with Lacoste for a futuristic looking pair. But her work with Melissa is an improvement.

Melissa + Zaha Hadid line will be available from next month August 2009 onwards at Lane Crawford and Dmop.
