If you fancy a holiday to multiple destinations without the hassle of plane flights, why not consider a cruise trip instead? The Royal Caribbean International’s cruise ship, Legend of the Seas, is set to return to Singapore this April and November for two seasons.
The two seasons will introduce a series of new Southeast Asian itineraries to popular ports-of-call in Malaysia, and exotic Thailand and Vietnam. The second season lasts from November 2011 to March 2012, which also features some trips to Bali.
Let us give an insight to what went down in the first season and what to look forward to this November.

The Legend of the Seas is a 867 feet long cruise ship equipped with all the facilities that a luxury cruise should have. The Romeo and Juliet Dining Room is where guests dress formally for the Formal Dinner on the first night for a classy experience.
Besides the usual exercise facilities like the gym and swimming pools, the Legend of the Seas also has other unique features like a rock-wall and an outdoor miniature golf course for any sports fanatics.
If you are seeking relaxation, they have lounges and bars of various kinds. The atmosphere is perfect for guests to be free from the hustle and bustle of travel. The guestrooms are compact but comfortable to allow a good night's rest onboard.

If you are not planning on leaving the ship during the cruise, there are plenty of activities onboard that you can participate in.
There are activities almost every hour to entertain guests. The staff on board is also friendly and helpful, eager and happy to assist you in any way to make your stay on the cruise stress-free. They also take a step further to the point of even memorizing your name to give all guests a more personal touch to the cruise experience.
Alternatively, Legend of the Seas offers a wide range of different shore excursions at each port-of-call for guests to explore the various destinations. Be it for sightseeing, or for shopping, the variety of excursions caters to what you want to experience from each country. The trips include transport to various tourist attractions and an ever-friendly tour guide telling you about the culture of their country.
Each excursion lasts for about 5-7 hours before guests are brought back to the ship to continue their trip. The prices range from US$25 to US$52 per adult.
Now we take a close look at some of the shore excursions in the 4-night cruise to Kuala Lumpur (Port Klang) and Phuket itinerary set for the first season.
Because I do not travel to Kuala Lumpur (KL) and Phuket often, I chose the tours that allowed me more freedom to explore KL and Phuket on my own to experience the culture and the attractions of the country more. For my KL stopover, I chose the “Kuala Lumpur On Your Own” excursion, which provided brief insights to the various attractions of KL and a drop off at a shopping mall called Lot10. For my “Phuket Sightseeing and Shopping” excursion, there were many drop offs at various must see tourist locations and some shopping outlets.
The Legend of the Seas returns to Singapore from November 2011 to March 2012 for her second season this year, and would include more exotic destinations like Ho Chi Minh and Bali.
