Legendary cognac house Hennessy took us back in time for the launch of their latest creation, Paradis Imperial, which was unveiled at the spectacular Hennessy Palace at Grand Hyatt Macau, City of Dreams on 12 May 2011.
The theme of the night was 'Russian Imperial' and guests were treated to a ballet performance before an indulgent seven-course meal featuring exquisite items like caviar, abalone and foie gras.
Inspired by a special order placed by the Russian Empress Maria Feodorovna in 1818 for a cognac of "excellent, very old, gold-coloured eau-de-vie of the very finest quality," Paradis Imperial was crafted by Master Blender Yann Fillioux, who decided to recover the majestic character of the original order by drawing on the Hennessy reserves, carefully selecting from some of the finest eaux-de-vie of the 19th century.

The result is a shimmering, amber colored cognac with a hint of sophisticated refinement, where aromas of jasmine and orange blossom are spiced with smoky accents. Each uniquely and individually numbered decanter was designed by Stephanie Balini, a talented young designer who created the new faceted shape crowned with a crystal cabochon and adorned with an 18-carat gold-plated label.
The Hennessy Paradis Imperial retails for HK$18,800 and is now available for sale in Hong Kong and Macau.
