Charlotte Tilbury comes to Bangkok, darlings

We may not be able to make it to London to see the Christmas lights right now, but London still has a gift for us right here in Bangkok.

Charlotte Tilbury Beauty has officially launched in Bangkok at Siam Paragon and Emporium Department Store. Long a beloved makeup artist to the stars, Bangkokians can now explore, experiment, and shop skincare and makeup products from Charlotte Tilbury’s eponymous beauty brand. Whether it’s the Make Up Revolution Bar, the Pillow Talk Collection, the Skin Bar, or the Lip Bar, there’s a lot to discover here.

Can’t decide what to pick first? Start with the absolute must-have, the Pillow Talk Original Lipstick (THB 1350), of which it is rumoured one is sold every 2 minutes, according to the Charlotte Tilbury.

Best for: Makeup aficionados who know and love Charlotte Tilbury, and newcomers who are curious why she calls everyone “darling”
Wear to: Christmas brunch, in a matching elegant red outfit (preferably velvet)

Ipsa collaborates with Beautiful People

Japanese beauty and fashion fans can be doubly as excited for this one, as Ipsa has collaborated with Beautiful People this season to present their new Rider’s Jacket Collection.

Inspired by the design and the concept of the fashion brand’s leather rider’s jacket, the Designing Face Colour Palette aims to bring about the same message: the colours look different on every person, the same way the jacket looks different on every person. It’s all about texture and expression, but also personal style (and skin!).

After all, Ipsa has long been known to incorporate science into the core of its products, and the Designing Face Colour Palette communicates this beautifully. Made up of cheek, highlight, shading, and perfecting colour, each of the elements look different from person to person when applied. It can even differ by time of day. This is because everybody’s skin is different, and everybody’s skin goes through various phases throughout the day. We were taken aback by the bold, dark cheek colour at first, but on application found it perfectly rosy and appropriate to skin tone. It’s a little Ipsa magic: individuality. We ship it.

Best for: Those with a knack for science in beauty
Wear to: Your beautiful everyday rituals

Laura Mercier takes us dancing in Paris

Laura Mercier set a really sweet theme for their festive collection, entitled ‘Ballet à Paris.’ Bringing together all the delicacy, drama, and decadence of the Paris ballet, the collection features everything from eye and cheek palettes, lip products, powders, a primer set, and bath and body items. There’s even a brush set (a great gift) that comes wrapped in a beautiful ballet slipper-like bag (THB 2900).

We particularly love the Prima Ballerina Mini Eyeshadow Palette, with a creamy yet delicate texture that easily blends. It comes in three shades of soft luminous shimmer, two pigment-rich mattes, and a bold pink metallic, because of course. Unmissable is also the Set to Perfect Translucent Loose Setting Powder & Puff Set, which is the brand’s star setting powder, but dressed in the limited-edition festive attire. It’s known to give your look a long-lasting matte finish and is perfect for photos due to its no-flashback formula. Did anyone say ‘Christmas selfie’?

Best for: Those who like a soft, natural look with an elegant and feminine touch
Wear to: A cute evening date at a French restaurant

SK-II celebrates the season with street art

SK-II really puts the ‘cool’ into the coolest season of the year. This 2020, the skincare brand has launched the SK-II PITERA Essence Street Art Limited Edition featuring a bold and edgy street art design for the festive season.

As part of the campaign, actress Haruka Ayase, Chloe Moretz and singer/songwriter Leah Dou have come together to present a remix of Mariah Carey’s “Fantasy” sung in three different languages. We can’t say we saw this one coming.

Fenty Beauty gets our bodies shimmery for the holidays

Fenty Beauty knows that all the parties you’ll be attending this festive season require more than just a pretty face. Rihanna gets it.

With this new Fenty Glow Trio Face, Lip & Body Set, you can sparkle from head to toe. The trio is made up of the bestselling Gloss Universal Lip Luminizer, the Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Blush, and the Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil in Fenty Glow. It really, really takes glitter to a whole new level, and really, really gives you that wow-effect wherever you enter. Easy to apply, smooth to blend, and non-sticky to wear, this is how you drop some jaws this November.

Best for: Being the belle at the ball (or the club)
Wear to: Any and all of your festive soirees

Make Up For Ever conceals our festive secrets

It is our favourite concealer of the minute.

It’s hard not to love anything Make Up For Ever produces, given that it is a beauty brand created by actual make up artists. This high coverage concealer is no different.

The new Matte Velvet Skin Concealer is made to blur imperfections for a 24-hour life-like matte finish “that doesn’t cake”. Given this heavy statement, it’s even moreso impressive, then, that the concealer is still breathable and still feels relatively lightweight to apply. We love the flexible texture that blends well into the skin, and it’s multi-tasking wand-like touch up that covers all concealing, correcting, contouring, and evening out skin tone. Go for one colour or go for multiple if you’re looking to perfect the latter two skills especially.

Best for: When you don’t have time to do a full face of makeup, but still want to look dashing
Wear to: An impromptu date, a meeting where you’re running late, a morning where you don’t feel like wearing too much on your face
Priced at: THB 940

The Ambient Lighting palette returns for Hourglass Cosmetics

Hourglass Cosmetics has launched a small yet impressive holiday collection, with a highly anticipated star.

The Ambient Lighting Edit palette is back this season, featuring three of the most beloved bestsellers, as well as three new shades of blush, bronzer, highlighter, and finishing powder. It’s ideal for those situations where the lighting is not ideal (but your face can still be), and really brightens your complexion with highlights and lowlights in all the right places. The travel-friendly palette comes in polished gold with little architectural facets, further enhancing its key message of really sculpting the face.

Best for: When your face feels a bit flat (we all have those days) and you’re craving a bit more dimension, and only want to use one palette to achieve it
Wear to: A candle-lit dinner, where your makeup will be lit, too
