Kat Von D‘s Vegan Love Eyeshadow Palette

Confession time! Recently, I’ve been wearing more makeup than usual and seriously questioning the impact it’s been having on my skin. Yes, makeup generally has a lot of chemicals in it, regardless of whether or not it uses natural ingredients – so toning down on makeup is always a good option. BUT. There is a lot of research that supports the idea that vegan products are better for your skin and products using animal ingredients usually purported to clog up our pores more. So, as I can’t stop my fascination with makeup, I have started my delve into vegan makeup. Being someone who loves to play with eyeshadow, I was delighted to come across this Vegan Love Eyeshadow Palette (THB 1,570) by tattoo artist sensation Kat Von D. This pearlescent limited edition palette brings 10 eye-popping colours that each come with their own name too. Although I’d most definitely work my way through all of them, I think you’ll see me most in gold ‘Compassion’, yellow ‘Activist’, pink-red ‘Merry’, metallic black ‘Liberation’ and purple ‘Empathy’. What can I say, I’m a sucker for feelings, moods, anything cruelty-free and eyeshadow – this palette is just ticking all those boxes. – Catherine Napalai Faulder, Managing Editor

Longchamp’s Mademoiselle Longchamp Toile Bag S

A chic new hobo bag collection has freshly arrived in Bangkok this month, and as a sweet prelude to Longchamp’s upcoming Le Pliage pop-up at Parc Paragon towards the end of May, I’m in a very Longchamp-y mood. I have always been a fan of the French brand’s skill for creating bags that are extremely durable, yet this Mademoiselle Longchamp Toile Bag S (THB 25,900) caught my eye more for style than for can-stick-it-out-in-the-monsoon-ability. I love that the bag looks both elegant and casual, with refined details from the two-toned cotton canvas to the bold signature clasp. Wide handles seem to be all the rage lately when it comes to bags, and though I am not entirely a convert to the trend just yet, I like the thought of sporting this bag as a tester of sorts. Laid-back and comfortable, it has something of a French free spirit. Lightly equestrian. Very great for brunch. Beautiful with a crisp white shirt. —  Lisa Gries, Staff Writer

Kate Spade’s Deck Stripe Top and Skirt

It’s rainy season but that doesn’t mean the heat has escaped the city. So I still need to cling onto my summer dresses just to make walking under the sun’s heat feel more like a breeze passing through grass fields. And when I saw this bright traffic orange Deck Stripe Crop Top (THB 3,900 approximately) and Deck Stripe Midi Skirt (THB 7,000 approximately) by Kate Spade, the outfit totally captured my eyes with its visual pop and breezy, contemporary flair. So those hankering for a rich in colour design, rock your look this season with this eye-catching set. – Kankanit Wichiantanon, Staff Writer

Karl Lagerfeld K/Klassik’s Pins Shoulder Bag

If you didn’t already know: Karl Lagerfeld chose Bangkok as the home to his only store in all of Southeast Asia. The store officially opened two days ago, and when I went in for a look around I kind of headed straight towards this K/Klassik shoulder bag (THB 18,500). With Karl’s beloved Chanel tweed material making an appearance here in a fiesty red, the bag also has a cute side to it with little pin badges of Karl’s favourite things. Cats, sunglasses, gloves – oh wait, these are my favourite things too. I guess I love this because it’s a quintessential Karl Lagerfeld bag that also happens to give me a sense of personal connection and kinship with the late fashion icon. It’s a real bittersweet item. – Karn Chatikavanij, Style Writer

Marques’Almeida’s spiked choker

Ever since chokers have made a comeback in the past few years, there’s been a new wave of choker necklaces. Is it still a trend to wear a choker? Actually, it doesn’t really matter when you have a gorgeous looking close-fitted necklace that makes you look good even in a simple black dress. There is just something about Marques’ Almeida’s spiked choker (BHT 4,955) that caught my attention. This pink snakeskin-effect leather choker is punctuated with golden metal spikes that add some punk to your mundane styling routine. Its bold patterns reflect a youthful vibe that really just makes it exciting to wear. It’s not something I would wear daily but it’s definitely something I would secretly want to flaunt when I do. – Alisha Pawa, Sponsored Content Creator

Missoni’s Skirt

From another store that’s just opened in Bangkok (and its largest flagship in Southeast Asia), Missoni’s woven maxi skirt (THB 71,200) is probably the prettiest item I’ve seen this past week. The exquisite marble effect of the weave is dreamy, as is that leg-lengthening flowing tail. Sure, it’s not the cheapest skirt ever but that’s exactly what makes it so special: this is a painstaking, handwoven piece which makes it literally unique to you. What’s more, it’s elegant and youthful at the same, and both cosy and glamourous – you’d never have to buy another skirt ever again. – KC
