Dyson Airwrap hair styler

There’s nothing wrong with looking like you have a lion’s mane. That is, if you’re an actual lion. So as a female human with hair that’s the wrong kind of savannah-chic, I’ve had my eyes on this styler for a while. The Dyson Airwrap (THB 16,990-17,900, depending on the model) is like the cooler, sexier sister of the Dyson Supersonic hairdryer that came before it. Sure, the Airwrap dries your hair too. But while doing that, it also simultaneously smooths out frizz, shapes your hair the way you want, straightens or curls your hair, and adds the perfect amount of volume. For me, having to dry my bounteous mane before using styling tools takes far too long, so this is a real time-saver. It also doesn’t use any extreme heat like other tools, which we all know is a hair-killer. Coming from the tech gods that once only gave us vacuum cleaners, the Airwrap uses the ‘Coanda Effect’ to attract and wrap hair using air. But, personally, I think it uses magic. The Dyson Airwrap is available at Central Chidlom, Siam Paragon and Central Online. – Karn Chatikavanij, Style Writer

Menard Embellir Washing

All this talk of air pollution rising – and I definitely don’t deny that it’s happening, I can definitely feel it – has made me incredibly concerned about my skin. With so many dirt particles in the air, and lord knows what else, how sure can we be that our faces are staying as toxin-free as possible? At the recent launch of Japanese beauty brand Menard’s first flagship store at ICONSIAM, I was definitely looking around for new and more effective facial washes that would aid me in making sure my skin is as clean and pollutant free as possible. I peeped the Menard’s Embellir Washing (THB 7,500) and knew instantly I had to get my hands on some. The creamy formula is a rich foaming cleaner and has been pretty good so far at removing all impurities on my face after a long day out and about. Before going to bed, my skin feels supple, fresh and it looks more radiant than usual. Rest assured, I’m sleeping a bit better knowing that despite all this air pollution, my skin isn’t suffering as much as it would be if I weren’t applying Menard’s care. – Catherine Napalai Faulder, Managing Editor

Jo Malone White Moss & Snowdrop Cologne

It doesn’t take much for me to instantly fall head over heels for a Jo Malone scent. The London-based brand manages to create fragrances that exude an aura of class and calm, in a way that is subtle and at times downright seductive. For this month, I’m hanging onto the last remnants of winter with this White Moss & Snowdrop Cologne (THB 5,600). The limited edition fragrance features cardamom as its top note (it’s Jo Malone, after all), with its cool spice blending well with the dreamy combination of snowdrop flowers and white moss earthiness. Crisp, smooth, and wildly iridescent, I have been loving this fragrance to kickstart my year and go into 2019 fresh as a forest. Is that a thing? It needs to be a thing. Eugenia Kim Mirable Textured Straw Sun Hat

I am a committed heliophile; sunlight and sunny days are my everything. And if you’re anything like me — the sun worshipper —you’ll know that facing the sun for long hours every day can be pretty damaging for our tender skin. Therefore, sunscreen and a chic hat are always a must. Right now I’m eyeing this Eugenia Kim’s Mirable Textured Straw Sun Hat (THB 16,919) for my next new hat. Although it will break my bank account, the chic slash cute design is just what I need —so yes, it will be worth every baht. Made with natural textured straw, the sun hat boasts this down-to-earth tone that’s sweetened classically with a black satin bow – and I’m so wild for it. — Kankanit Wichiantanon, Staff Writer.

Bijoux de Famille ‘Dress Me Bangles’

Here’s one of my favourite style tricks: wear whatever you want and just leave it up to statement jewellery. Even if you just want to wear that plain white, loose cotton dress because it’s the comfiest thing ever, throw on a big pair of earrings and bada-bling, you’re ready for dinner at the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok. I’ve recently discovered this jewellery brand by a Parisian designer and I’ve been a fan of her bright colours and caricatures ever since. For me, accessorising is about having fun and experimenting with new looks. Julie Pasquet, the designer, really gets this. My favourite of hers right now is this set of ‘Dress Me Bangles’ (THB 8,483  – currently on sale from THB 10, 604 from Club 21 at Erawan, Siam Discovery or Emquartier ) which is the perfect example of what I mean by accessorizing being all about fun experimentation. Featuring fashion icons like Karl Lagerfeld as caricatures, the bangles twist around so you can literally dress up the cute little designers. My love for statement jewellery has reached new levels. – KC
