What to do in Bangkok: 16-30 July 2018

As the temperatures rise and the rain falls hard and heavy on the city this month, Bangkok’s event scene seems to be getting even hotter. The city is abuzz will all sorts of happenings, giving us more reasons than one to step out and brave the humidity for a little diversion. Check out our picks below for everything from a spirited spoken word night to a photography exhibition and sumptuously summery American feast, and make the most out of the rest of this fun-filled month.

Taste of American Summer

DEAN & DELUCA’s Taste of American Summer
When: 16 July-16 September

It’s always summer somewhere, and for foodies right now that somewhere is none other than American upscale eatery DEAN & DELUCA. Whilst Thailand’s sky brings rain and thunder to us this monsoon season, the restaurant is inviting guests to escape the drizzles to enjoy their “Taste of American Summer” menu, inspired by summer days in the States. Diners can expect to savour hearty American specialities such as the classic chili cheeseburger and chilli cheese fries, doused in meaty chili, melted cheese, and a scattering of jalapeño and bacon bits. To complete the experience, round up your meal with the thick, rich rocky road milkshake or a luscious slice of apple raspberry crumble cheesecake. Running from 16th July to 16th September, diners can enjoy this menu at all DEAN & DELUCA Thailand outlets, excluding Khao Yai and Suvarnabhumi stores.

Bamboo Bar

‘COMPASS’ at The Bamboo Bar

Ranking at No.9 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2018 list, The Bamboo Bar never ceases to amaze us with its creatively concocted cocktail lists. For July, the newly launched ‘COMPASS’ menu sees a selection of crafted drinks celebrating the unique characteristics and cuisines of five different regions in Thailand. With a truly authentic touch of local flavour, the cocktails will transport your taste buds to different parts of the country in no time. Our favourite? Definitely try the ‘Mortar’: an Isaan papaya-salad-inspired cocktail made with Barrelhouse 53 vodka, tomato juice, papaya compote, lime juice, and chilli flakes. Within the bar’s elegant tropical bamboo surroundings, and to the soulful melodies of live jazz, it’ll spice up your night unlike any other this July.
