The best ‘grams of Christmas in Bangkok this year

The period after Christmas is always a little awkward. We’re currently in that strange limbo in between two massive periods of festivities. While getting over the end of all the tinsel and jingles (oh, and that massive hangover if you were one of Santa’s “naughty” ones), we’re also getting prepped for yet more celebrations as we reach the new year. But don’t let this weird in-between period bring down your high spirits. In order to stay on that buzz and keep up the festive hype, we’re looking over some of the wonderful moments from Christmas in Bangkok this year.

To get over those post-Christmas blues, we’re re-living it just one last time through these wonderful festive ‘grams from Bangkokians. So, with leftover turkey in hand and Netflix playing on the TV (or — again for the naughty ones — the office computer), have a scroll through these Instagrams which prove that Christmas in Bangkok can actually be pretty magical. We can’t wait to do it all again next year!

Capturing the warmth and wholesomeness of the season.

The newly-wed TV glowed extra brightly by the Christmas lights this year.

Certainly one of our favourite hotel Christmas decorations this year – a magical festive makeover on the iconic building.

Decadently decorated as always, the fashionista’s tea room was possibly the most Christmassy place to shop and eat cake this month.

Who doesn’t love the sound of a late night Christmas party? We certainly do – especially when the invite features an illustration of santa hanging out with a piña colada.

As one of Thailand’s most celebrated illustrators, she was certainly kept busy this Christmas – particularly with the festively doodled wall at Wat Mangkon MRT station.

The ultimate triple threat, Bangkok’s very own Charlie’s Angels – Patricia, Vatanika, and Thanaerng are slaying in this Christmas portrait.

We simply swooned for this beautifully captured café front with one of the loveliest festive decorations we saw this year.

If Christmas is in the details, then Sephora Thailand’s festive makeup look definitely caught our eye. Pun intended.

Some may be skeptical of shopping mall Christmas decorations, but Central World’s display and special performances did bring lots of people together in festive spirit. And, at the end of the day, isn’t that what makes Christmas so magical?

We’ll count ourselves lucky to be one of those cities that can have Christmas dinners al fresco. And nowhere took advantage of this as wonderfully as The Peninsula Hotel did.

Of course, Thailand’s favourite prom king and queen must also have their statement Christmas post. And, we admit, it is incredibly cute. How do they do it?!
