Could you imagine the duo — Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse — all decked up in Thai Chakri costumes while the full moon lights up the sky? Luckily, Mickey Mouse fans will be delighted to know that the much-loved superstars will be at ICONSIAM this month to turn all these fantasies into a reality.
Taking place on 11 November, ICONSIAM Chao Phraya River of Glory will commemorate Thailand’s rich traditional festival in the most unique way by joining hands with Walt Disney Thailand for an experience unlike any before. If you didn’t grow up watching the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, then trust us, you’re about to join his fanclub. Visitors to the special event will see the 3.5m-sized replica figures of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in Thai traditional outfits at River Park, a gold-sculptured Mickey Mouse pulling off a Sawasdee pose, a ‘Mickey Goes to Thailand’ themed photo booth, and plenty of family-friendly workshops and activities. And yet, there’s more.

ICONSIAM Chao Phraya River of Glory
Whilst Disney fans will emerge into their fantasy land with Mickey Mouse, the event will also feature the customary ritual to honour the Goddess of Water along with A-list guests and celebrities participating in the event. When it comes to Thai cultural festivals, ICONSIAM have made a mark for themselves with their extravagant approach in celebrating festive seasons, and ICONSIAM Chao Phraya River of Glory will be no different.
Iconsiam has established itself as the true global destination given its magnificent riverside location with art, cultural heritage, endless dining options, and its remarkable attractions. There’s no better place to celebrate this festive season than at Thailand’s iconic landmark itself where you see the best from all around the world.
The majestic River Park will present an exhibition of handcrafted Krathong made by officials and members from 15 participating embassies. The participating embassies have designed their very own Krathong from natural grains that reflect the uniqueness of their culture. Whilst you’ll see all the crafty works by the embassies, handcrafted krathongs by leading Thai Universities will also be exhibiting at ICONLUXE from November 8-24, 2019.
Expect to see the ‘River of Glory’ show reflecting the heritage of the River of Kings, the valued Thai traditions with contemporary Thai art performances, and a parade show of legendary icon Nang Noppamas lead by celebrity Nune-Woranuch Bhirombhakdi. Discover Thailand’s significant landmarks via the local shadow puppetry show that will unravel historical incidents and cultural heritage in the most contemporary approach. Got-Jakraphun Kornburiteerachote’s will also be having a mini-concert in a complete Thai costume. Nonetheless, visitors can start gearing up their best costumes as the event will also feature a Nang Noppamas contest.
