Listen to the toe-tapping beat and buzzing sounds from a trumpet and some smooth tunes drifting from the piano. It’s not so hard to recognise good Jazz especially because it has a distinct vibe to it. Its harmony entails all the elements you want to find in a piece of fine classical music. Have you had a listen to Spirit Control – which hit the top 10 Belgium charts right after its release? That’s when we heard the duo’s first collaboration. If not, you wouldn’t want to miss out in this one-off opportunity to see the dynamic-duo that has been at the forefront of the European jazz music scene.
For the pleasure of all Bangkok-based jazz lovers, the internationally-recognised Belgium pianist Jef Neve is teaming up with talented Dutch trumpet player Teus Nobel for a night filled with modern classical jazz. What really makes Jazz enjoyable is the improvisation that plays a key role in making each performance unique on its own. Neve and Nobel will be playing their original compositions with a compelling mix of some cool jazz-classical tunes. Their last gig at Ghent Jazz 2018 in Belgium was sold out, which gives us all the reasons to attend this concert.
Jef Neve has been globally acclaimed for his performances of jazz, pop, classical music, and of course as a Universal Music recording artist. Neve is a master when it comes to best-selling jazz albums. He has been touring for over 15 years in across many countries, from Canada and Australia to Japan – swaying his way through major jazz festivals and prize-winning soundtracks. Having a record of successful gigs at Millennium Hilton Bangkok, the duo is returning to Bangkok yet again. Nobel’s well-known compositions such as the Esho Funi based on the concept “everything is Zen” is influenced by Buddhism, giving us some source of inspiration. Together, they have been creating magic which has been well received by audiences across the globe.
Where can you enjoy a sweet-sounding evening better than one of Bangkok’s best rooftop bars – ThreeSixty Jazz Lounge (a vibrant jazz lounge combined with a rooftop terrace) at Millennium Hilton Bangkok. Under the charming glittering blue lights of the lounge, unwind and drink in the panoramic vistas of the city’s skyline and the magnificent Chao Phraya River all while you dive into the world of jazz. The musical event promises to be a night to remember and we are sure that taking the time to appreciate some rich classical music would be worthwhile and soul-awakening.
