Halloween 2018 falls on a Wednesday this year, which only really means one thing: we have an excuse to celebrate both on the weekend and during the week. Are you ready to get spooky with it?

Bangkok is buzzing with events to celebrate the scariest day of them all, with a range of parties and activities to ensure you a ghoul time. From spine-tingling cocktail sips to fresh fright bites, we’ve put together a list of the best Halloween parties and haunts you need to check out at the end of this month. Whether you go full Exorcist every year and like to dress up to the nines, or prefer to kick back with some popcorn and a chilling thrilling movie classic, there’s something here for everyone to embrace the spirit(s) and have a spook-tacular time. October Halloween Special at the Bangkok Screening Room

Go old school this Halloween and kick back to the creepies with a classic horror movie. Bringing a true cult-horror blast from the past to their theatre, the Bangkok Screening Room will be showing classic Halloween flicks, such as The Evil Dead and Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Those who show up in a Halloween costume will also get free popcorn, so it’s definitely worth donning that witch hat and superhero onesie to the show.

Drag-ula Halloween 2018 Party at W Bangkok

Inviting you to unveil the diva inside you this Halloween, the W Hotel’s Woobar is hosting a drag queen-themed Halloween party this year, with a special performance by the amazing ‘queen of the night’ Gene Kasidit. Dressing up to drag up the night is highly encouraged, with tunes and beats provided by DJ Groove. Entry includes free flow drinks too, from 8-10pm.

No Escape Halloween Party at Escape

Bangkok’s buzzing Escape is sure to score high on Instagram likes next week. The rooftop bar will be decked out with a creepy Aokigahara forest at the entrance, eerie torture toilets, a scary show girls dancing table top, and a host of terrifying(ly good) entertainment. With various DJs playing old school hip hop, funk, and house music throughout the night, Escape is the place to be seen this Halloween. There’ll also be a whole bunch of prizes given to the best and scariest costumes, so it’s a great excuse to come dressed to shock.

Wild Spooky Rumpus at The Commons

Thonglor neighbourhood hangout The Commons is inviting visitors to take part in a whole range of activities this Halloween. Be it trick or treating, a scavenger hunt, workshops, or a little monsters costume contest, the venue will be buzzing with activities for the whole family. There’ll also be a 10-hour DJ marathon to keep the beats going throughout the day (and night), as well as special food vendors selling Halloween-themed treats.

A Nightmare in Havana

The dead are not quiet at Havana Social. Sukhumvit’s hottest hidden bar is hosting a special Halloween party, featuring exclusive Halloween cocktails, spooky costumes, and boogie downs. There’s also going to be a costume contest, with a fantastic secret prize for the winning outfit. All the best reasons to celebrate the occasion next week – Cuban revolution style!

Featuring live percussion performances and Latin rhythms and beats spun by DJ DaddyRock, immerse yourself in a scary colourful Mexican atmosphere. Those who arrive in a costume will be greeted with a free shot, and makeup artists will be available on site to give you a famous Dia de Los Muertos sugar skull makeover, too.

Cirque Noir Halloween at The Club at Koi

A collaboration between The Club at Koi and Grey Goose vodka, the renowned Sathorn nightclub is hosting an extravagant party, which will see performances by Halloween-themed characters and the Bangkok invaders crew dropping hip hop and party anthems. Sure to be a wild night, the best part is probably the dress code: Haunted Circus. True horror movie stuff.

For those who really want to party it up this Halloween, there’s only one true destination. Sukhumvit Soi 11’s Levels has long been known as one of the most happening clubs in town, and with its Black Masquerade Halloween 2018 Party, Bangkok is in for another banger. Resident band Foreign Xchange as well as Swedish DJ duo JRL will be on the music, and makeup artists will also be available throughout the night. The dress code is ‘horror glam’, and entry is free of charge before midnight.
