Over the weekend, The Armoury — Hong Kong’s preeminent purveyor of “international classic” menswear — celebrated its auspicious 8th anniversary. A key player in the global resurgence of interest in tailored clothing (and in the widespread digital phenomenon that would become known as “hashtag menswear”), this modest little endeavour from co-founders Mark Cho & Alan See has evolved over the years from a single location (in Central’s iconic Pedder Building) into a trifecta of stores carrying over 50 brands (including its own private label), regularly profiled by the likes of GQ, The Rake Japan and Monocle.
On Saturday evening, The Armoury’s team in Hong Kong invited family, friends and selected journalists into their LANDMARK space for a relaxed get-together celebrating the aforementioned 8 year milestone. Prominent figures within the men’s fashion industry and wider community — Hiromitsu Kosone, Kanae Hirasawa, Alan Lo and Ken Wu among many others — gathered for an evening of drinks, conversation and, of course, superbly stylish group photos.
