Bangkok is an exciting city filled with all kinds of eateries and culinary institutions, and the town’s food scene only keeps flourishing. Undoubtedly, the city has turned into a true hotspot for food lovers, inviting both newbies and insiders to explore and taste the ever-changing offerings. This perhaps explains why restaurants keep bringing a number of visiting guest chefs and temporary pop-ups to make sure city-dwellers are fuelled joyously with new eats and drinks each month.

If you are currently circling around town looking for an exclusive excuse to wine and dine this October, here are five dining pop-ups you should look out for.

“Babe” Pop Up by Michelin Starred Chef Jeff Ramsey at Kintsugi

When: Now until 15 October (every day except Mondays and Tuesdays)

Price: Three set menus with prices ranging between THB 1,980, THB 2,680, and THB 3,880 per person.

Chef Jeff Ramsey of the Michelin-starred Babe restaurant in Malaysia is bringing his signature dishes over to the soon-to-open Bangkok restaurant, Kintsugi, a multi-course Kaiseki Japanese eatery within The Athenee Hotel. Diners will get to choose between three set menus: an 8-course, a 12-course and a premium 12-course menu. Each dish will be a display of a happy and harmonious marriage of French and Japanese cuisines, so expect to gorge on an extravagant dinner accentuated with French flair and Nippon finesse.

Stranger Brews Round 1: Heart of Darkness

When: 3-6 October
Price: THB 1,400++ for two persons
Enagage in the glorious beer culture of Saigon with Happy Endings Eats & Bar’s Stranger Brews – a beer pairing of Happy Endings’ scrumptious Vietnamese dishes with four different types of beer from Heart of Darkness, a Vietnamese-native craft beer brewery. The booze-and-bites pairing will have your palates praising.

Rooftop Wine Tasting

Price: THB 1,200 per person

Take a hike to Spectrum Lounge & Bar peached on the 31st floor of Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit this month for a sky-high Italian wine tasting. Wine Tasting at Up & Above Restaurant & Bar

When: 18 October

Price: THB 1,500++ for standing tasting and THB 2,800++ for a sit-down dinner.

October clearly can’t get enough of wine tasting. Transport yourself to two wine-enriched regions: Barossa Valley region in South Australia, and Marlborough region in New Zealand, via Up & Above Restaurant & Bar’s wine tasting. Known as one of the city’s landmarks for an extravagant international buffet, the venue will temporarily turn itself into a tasting field, offering two options for diners to dive deeper into the world of wine. Go for the standing tasting if you are more of a casual type who likes small bites with vino. This option comes with a selection of tapas like Serrano ham, melon, and chorizo to go with 7 white and 5 red wines. The sit-down dinner option includes free-flow wine, tapas, and a 4-course set menu — think tuna mignon and luscious tiramisu.
