Lifestyle Asia Playlist May 2022: The Soundtrack of Your Life

The perfect way to soothe you into that sweet Friday feeling: meet the Lifestyle Asia BK Playlist.

Film lovers, unite!

Award season may be over, but that doesn’t mean the film festivals are. As a matter of fact – that’s far from it.

With the Cannes Film Festival – one of the most renowned film festivals in the world – coming in tow this month (May 17 – May 28), there’s no better time to create a playlist entirely dedicated to films.

The whole world, including the world of cinema, has been completely upended by the coronavirus pandemic. But during the past year, we have seen a re-emergence in films, and of course, we’re all here for it. From Marvel, musicals, to cinematographic masterpieces, it looks like we’re almost back to our usual programming now.

With that being said, here’s a playlist of our favourite soundtracks from the films – both on the big and small screen – released during the past year. And let us tell you, they do not disappoint.

We’ve compiled a variety of genres, from award-winning animations like Encanto, the soulful, surreal and raw scores from Labrinth in Euphoria’s season 2, Doja Cat’s funky, hip hop tunes for the movie Elvis, to Hans Zimmer’s masterpieces in Dune (which he won an Oscar for). We’ve got it all.

Get ready to be transported into the world of cinema through these tracks, because you’ll definitely be feeling like you’re the main protagonist in the storyline – just like the title said, this is going to be the soundtrack of your life.
