Octave Rooftop Bar

octave 1

Coined as one of Bangkok’s sexiest rooftop bars, Octave Bar & Lounge has carved out a niche based on their sweeping and unobstructed views of the entire Bangkok skyline and their multi-level design that features three separate zones for chilling and relaxing. Set atop the Bangkok Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit, the design is inspired by New York apartment terraces featuring an outside restaurant, a private dining room, and their signature rooftop lounge centred on their neon-blue oval bar. Downstairs in the terrace restaurant level, the décor is much more sophisticated and romantic. The expansive deck has two levels of comfortable couches to lounge in and a décor dominated by warm wood and soothing earth tones. Octave rooftop lounge and bar offers its New Year’s Eve party that delivers one of the best vantage points for the midnight panorama of the Bangkok city skyline and fireworks.  Reserve 45th Floor for lounge area and bigger tables, or 48th Floor or 49th Floor which include a glass of Moet et Chandon, signature tapas, party favours, and live music and entertainment.

Asiatique

asitique

This is the only New Year’s Eve event on our list that is free of charge, with no admission fee. The Bangkok Countdown at Asiatique is located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. It is one of the best places to watch the fireworks. The many restaurants also ensure there is plenty of eating and drinking options available for any budget. There will also be special entertainment performing from 5pm until the midnight countdown. Asiatique is an upscale riverside complex that has created quite a buzz since it opened in April 2012. Inspired by the historic period of trade between Thailand and the Danish East Asiatic Company during the reign of King Rama V in the 1900s, it features Bangkok’s longest public boardwalk (300 metres) and over 1500 shops, 40 restaurants and bars, as well as event venues and a one-of-a-kind floating boat museum.
