Revisit: Biscotti, a fine match for Italian fare aficionados

Imagine a place sitting squarely between a cordial trattoria and a haute-cuisine restaurant. That’s Biscotti for you.

Nestled within the Anantara Siam Bangkok, Biscotti basks in its much-deserved limelight. The Italian eatery, robust with Italian dishes like pizza and pasta along with other homestyle-made-posh entrees, is the place to be for authentic Italian meals that do not disappoint.

Helmed by the Genova-native chef de cuisine Alessio Banchero, the kitchen doles out new stellar dishes touched with his Northern takes on Italian cuisine. And now that Biscotti has recently started welcoming diners once again, we revisited the restaurant and think you should, too. Here are the must-try dishes to order if you are to opt for utmost pleasure and delectability.

Biscotti’s Signature Focaccia (THB 650)

The puffy, olive oil-drenched focaccia always hits all the right spots, but more often than not, it’s served merely as a starter or a supporting player in a meat-packed sandwich. That’s not the case with this focaccia. Biscotti’s Signature Focaccia is as thin as you wish thin crust pizza would be, and it’s stuffed generously with sweet-salty mascarpone. The truffle oil and scallion scattered on the top also lends just enough funky herbaceous notes, making the dish both a splendid starter as well as a substantial bite in place of an OG pizza.

Diavola Pizza (THB 580)

Apart from Mortadella e Pistacchi (THB 670), which is Chef Alessio’s new signature dish, we equally love the simple Diavola pie blanketed with ooey gooey mozzarella and scattered with spicy salami and taggiasche olives.

Ravioli Ossobuco (THB 1050)

There’s nothing a bowl full of pasta can’t fix. So if you’re after something to fix your emotional state, opt for this handmade Ravioli Ossobuco showered in a deliciously musky black truffle sauce. The shaved black truffle atop the pasta also adds extra truffle-y oomph any truffle fanatic will love.

Seared Tasmanian Salmon (THB 950)

Nutrient-rich yet far from being bland and boring, we love this Seared Tasmanian Salmon that comes with scrumptious sides and sauces like crisp asparagus and hollandaise foam.

Fritto Misto (THB 790)

Fries are man’s best friend, but for something more of a wife or husband standard, deep-fried seafood is the answer. This succulent dish recently curated by Chef Alessio is composed with premium calamari, prawns, fish filet, and even zucchini and carrots to freshly balance the meatiness. It’s by far one of our favourite dishes at the restaurant.

Classic Coffee Tiramisu (THB 250)

Tiramisu is not new, but this reimagined presentation over at Biscotti sure is refreshing, especially when it is made to order right by your dining table. The ladyfingers soak up the right amount of coffee and are a good contrast to the pillowy layers of sweet mascarpone cream.
