2019 has been a good year so far and if you want to keep it that way (according to Thai beliefs), giving is always a contributing cause of all the goodness you receive. For a food aficionado who’s also looking for a way to feed their inner merit-making heart, we recommend partaking in a glorious gala dinner that will be joined by 22 of Bangkok’s notorious chefs as they set to dish up an impressive meal for charity purposes on February 4 at the Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok.

Organised yearly by Gourmet One Food Services, Thailand’s leading importer of premium food products, The 2019 Bangkok Chefs Charity Fundraising Gala Dinner is back for its 10th edition, with the goal of raising funds for Royal Patrol Police schools and for underprivileged children in the remote areas of Thailand.

Featuring a lineup of acclaimed chefs from five-starred hotels and Thai Airways International, for example, Chef Arnaud Dunand Sauthier (Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok); Chef Stefan Trepp (Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok); Chef Michael Hogan (Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park); Chef Stefan Leitner (The Peninsula Bangkok); Chef Jose Martin Ruiz Borja (Angsana Laguna Phuket); Chef Antony Scholtmeyer (Capella Bangkok) — the event will showcase an 11-course meal using premium products like foie gras, wagyu beef and lobster. The dinner will also focus on Thai quality produce such as Camellia seed oil, coffee and pesticide-free vegetables, all from Jan-Ka-Pak, PatPat, and Phufa Shop — which are all the agricultural projects of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. As for beverages, a selection of opulent wines will also be provided by Central Wine Cellar to make sure you are hydrated well throughout the entire meal.

Following the success of Bangkok Chefs Charity Gala Dinners in the past nine years which helped to raise over 132.66 million baht, all proceeds this year from ticket sales, fund-raising during the meal as well as the Phufa’s ‘Pagakayaw’ products sales will go to Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to support poor children in need, as well as going towards the construction of the ‘Bangkok Chefs Charity Border Patrol Police School’ at Ban Mae Khor, Mae Charm District, Chiangmai Province in order to provide full educational services to poor children in remote areas.
