Weaving together Western and Asian flavours, Little Donkey doles out a selection of unique, wow-worthy dishes — as evidenced in this Beef Short Rib Khanomjeen. The thin rice noodle bathed in a pool of spicy Naam Ya sauce packs up some serious pungent kicks and umami that only gets better with a medley of fresh veggies and big chunks of beef short ribs.
Pancakes are a breakfast essential. But for those who always stick to plain, buttermilk (or just milk-based) pancakes, it’s time to switch up to something more delicate and excellent. This stack of cheese-enriched Blueberry Ricotta Pancakes showered in blueberry sauce and earl grey crumbles at Roast BKK is ultra fluffy and flavourful. It deserves to make it to your breakfast plate.
Looking for a cheat day meal? By all means, head to Fatty’s Bar & Dinner, a casual restaurant slash bar with a homey vibe like that of American diners. The selection of burgers at Fatty’s Bar & Diner will hit you with their hippie, old-school versus new-school versions of American hamburgers. Opt for their Buffalo J Burger with the juicy patty, smoked bacon, blue cheese, and buffalo wing sauce all put together between soft, beautiful buns.
If you have a heart like ours that beats for meat and meat alone, Don Asado is the new spot in town to stop by. The Argentinian steakhouse serves up an array of drool-inducing beef, but what we absolutely adore is their short ribs grilled long and slow over wood-burning fire. Toothsome smokiness and beautifully distinct flavours come through here, which can only be obtained from cooking meat this way.
Chef Pom Cuisine By TODD is all about Chinese fare spiked with modern oriental aesthetics. Led by Chef Thanarak “Pom” Chuto, the food here is a reflection of his 30-year experience in studying and cooking up Chinese cuisine. The must-tries here are foie gras steamed dumplings and the deep-fried Taro Lava Bun. They are delicious as well as Instagrammable.
Not only is Seki Donburi SUSHI SEKI’s signature dish, it is also our favourite Japanese rice bowl in Bangkok at the moment. Atop the warm bed of plump, short-grained rice are ribbons of salmon and scallops studded elegantly with ikura and flying fish roe. It is packed with meaty elements and ocean-y taste. Delicious.
