Matcha, the finely ground powder made from green tea leaves, is known for its vegetal flavours, inviting aromas and health benefits, so it’s no wonder that its popularity has grown across the world. Bangkok is no exception, boasting plenty of green tea cafés to satisfy all of the matcha addicts amongst us. We’ve compiled a list of our favourite green tea specialty spots that serve up delicious, matcha-infused delights. From Peace Oriental Teahouse to Tsujiri, here are some of the best cafés where you can get your green tea fix.
Specialising in fine, traditional green teas, Peace Oriental Teahouse offers a different selection of rare green teas every season. Order gyokuro (THB 450) to enjoy the signature, top-notch green tea. Those who’d like to savour slick, syrupy matcha flavours should try Ceremonial-Grade Matcha (THB 690), prepared in the Japanese koicha method. For a lighter, sweeter alternative, choose the usucha method, which provides a subtle, buttery matcha taste.
