5 new Bangkok cafés for your next afternoon pick-me-up

If you love spending a relaxing afternoon at a café with the glorious scents of coffee beans and baked goods wafting through the air, you’re in luck. Our city is filled with plenty of new cafés, each one boasting a unique character — and more keep opening each month. To keep things easy for you, we’ve tried out all the spots in this latest crop of cafés and picked our favourites. Here are five new Bangkok cafés that you should check out for your afternoon delights.

Sretsis Parlour

Best known for its stunning designer pieces, fashion brand Sretsis has recently opened a lovely new café. With a pastel-pink colour scheme and whimsical vintage decorations, Sretsis Parlour will let you savour delightful treats in a gorgeous setting that’s fit for a princess. The dishes are beautifully crafted and served on elegant porcelain plates; dive into a ‘Tea Time with The Unicorn’ set (THB 650), which offers a sleek selection of Sretsis signature cakes and fermented tea blends such as the blossom baby cakes garden, rosetta dream choux cream and No.57 fine teas.

Let’s Bite

If you’re looking for a cute place to read and savour some afternoon delights, Let’s Bite is your best option. Tucked away in a quaint alley of Soi Thung Mangkon, this café is a hidden spot that offers an impressive selection of scrumptious baked goods: think soft coconut cake, luscious mango sticky rice cake and sweet potato layer cake. As for drinks, go for fresh lemon-honey soda, which is derived from a butterfly pea flower. For those who’d like to dine on some savoury food, Let’s Bite also provides fusion dishes like delectable spicy spaghetti and Thai green curry.

Gō coffee & Icē-cream

Check out Gō coffee & Icē-cream for its delicious ice cream and crafted coffee. Expect a unique selection of Thai-inspired flavours from affogato with kanom ping to coconut with espresso dressing. You’ll find that the sweetness of the Irish cream flavour pairs beautifully with the bitter piccolo coffee. Not only does this café serve up these satisfying options, but it also offers a cool ambience with its urban-chic blue palette.

KINN Kaffe & Craft

Decorated with potted plants and native blooms in every corner, KINN Kaffe & Craft is the perfect place for a calming, laid-back afternoon. This café offers a sophisticated selection of locally sourced coffee beans, and you can savour your favourite drinks such as espresso macchiato, caramel latte and mocha. For something different, opt for the signature Romeo & Juliet, a mellow blend of aromatic cocoa, fresh yogurt and sweet strawberry. For those who’d like a cold brew in the natural breeze, pick an outdoor seat in the lovely garden.

Hookrajong Café

Situated in the Yannawa district, Hookrajong Café is practically a little glass house boasting floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing natural light to flood the space. The white interiors and wooden furnishings allow you to enjoy sweet bites and special coffees in a warm and welcoming setting. On the menu, you’ll find delicious treats such as the creamy banoffee pie, flavourful orange cake and crispy macadamia nut brownie. The crafted coffees here are highly Instagram-worthy, as they come with intricate latte art. We also particularly love the hot chocolate that comes with a cute bear decoration latte on top.
