Meet the latest and greatest track-only hypercar from Lamborghini: the limited-edition Essenza SCV12.

Big, bold, and overly ambitious — the Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 is anything but. For starters, it is a direct descendant of the Miura Jota as well as the Diablo GTR, two iconic cars from Lamborghini’s storied past. To sweeten the deal, the Essenza SCV12 is highly exclusive and very limited — there are only 40 units worldwide.

But what are you getting for a hypercar like this? Well, how does a 6.5-litre V12 naturally aspirated engine producing 830hp sound to you? Fun fact, it even ousts the hybrid Sián FKP37, which already puts out 819hp. You’ll also notice a unique sound to the engine thanks to its exhaust pipes designed by Capristo, which reduces pressure from the back while improving performance. The car is a rear-wheel-drive that pairs up with the new X-trac sequential six-speed gearbox, ensuring its compact with greater torsional stiffness and structural continuity.

Brembo Motorsport makes an appearance in the Essenza SCV12 for its brake discs and calipers, which are protected by magnesium rims (19-inch front; 20-inch rear) and mounted on specific slick Pirelli tyres.

The car was designed by Lamborghini Centro Stile, which has been the source of all racing car blueprints for the brand since the inception of the Lamborghini Squardra Corse. Due to the very nature of its track-only bodywork, it features only three elements that allow for quick replacement during pit stops. Choose from four launch liveries — Verde Silvans, Grigio Linx, Nero Aldebaran Gloss and Arancio California.

As for its overall look, It showcases Lamborghini’s DNA in all the right spots — hexagonal geometry makes up the front headlamps, the roof airscoop, and the air vents that frame the steering wheel. And of course, there’s the unmistakable “Y” scattered across the livery as well as the cockpit, the latter of which features a design that is both lightweight and functional. This is evident in the dashboard and instrumental panel made out of carbon fibre. Lamborghini also throws in an F1-inspired steering wheel with display to go with its FIA-homologated OMP seat with a carbon shell.

Given that the Essenza SCV12 is a track-only hypercar, it is strictly not allowed for public use. However, Lamborghini is offering its potential owners to become part of an elite and exclusive club. This grants them access to special and exciting programmes that allows them to drive their purchase on the most prestigious circuits in the world. While a price tag for the Essenza SCV12 has not been confirmed, expect it to be available to only the most privileged of people.

But that’s not all.

Lamborghini is also throwing in an entire experience with its hypercar. This includes storage service in a new hangar built Sant’Angata Bolognese for the Essenza SCV12 club. Each car will come with its own personalised garage and dedicated services, which also includes a 24-hour live stream via webcam for owners who wish to monitor and gaze upon their life choices. The facility also houses the “Lamborghini Squadra Corse Drivers Lab” by Tecnobody, which offers athletic training programmes similar to those followed by the official Lamborghini racing drivers.

Given the current status of COVID-19, the first “arrive and drive” events are slated to begin in 2021 at numerous FIA Grade 1 homologated circuits. Support and assistance will be provided by the Squadra Corse technical staff as well as Emanuele Pirro, five-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and Marco Mapelli, Lamborghini Squadra Corse factory driver, both of whom will be your tutors.

It’s safe to say that Lamborghini is offering an experience most of us can only dream of.
