The episode commences with Richard immersing himself in one of the most cherished aspects of the city, the food. He embarks on his culinary odyssey by tasting world-famous roadside eats on the streets of Bangkok, and of course, makes a pit stop at Michelin Star eatery Jay Fai. He then joins Chef “Pom” where he takes a lesson in authentic Thai cooking.

Following the food fun, he’s then off for a boat ride on the Chao Phraya River to meet beloved local TV host Woody Milintachinda. Here, Richard receives a crash course on the river, Thai culture, the art of Sawasdee Kha, and more.

The temple

Visiting Thailand and not getting a massage is like visiting New York and not getting a bagel. Ergo, the anchor visits the Wat Pho Massage School. He also receives a personal tour of the temple’s famous reclining Buddha guided by Phra Debvajracarya Thiab Malai.

The entertainment

He concludes the night in one of the most iconic entertainment hubs in the city, House of Heals. At the bar, Thailand’s leading drag queen Pangina Heals gives Richard an insight into the country’s LGBTQIA+ community and its often misunderstood third gender. Expect to see Richard fabulously strutting in heels.
