Whilst we should be celebrating this community every month of the year, this June has really highlighted the LGBTQ spirit with people coming out to celebrate and make their voices heard. It’s also the time when LGBTQ figures around the world are in the spotlight. We already know a lot about the global LGBTQ figures, so it’s time that you check out these Thai LGBTQ figures as well.

Woody Vuthithorn

There’s no reason that you’re not talking about Woody Vuthithorn. He’s not just one of Thailand’s LGBTQ stars, he’s also a leading figure on the front line of the Thai entertainment industry. Apart from being a TV and online content host and executive producer, he’s also the host of his own ‘Woody Show’ that is the first-ever licensed format show of ‘The Ellen Degeneres Show’ too.

Pangina Heals

Also known by his real name Pan Pun Nakprasert, Pangina Heals is an iconic Thai drag queen who co-hosted ‘Drag Race Thailand.’ The artist has performed at events all across the world, and is seen by many as a real ambassador of the LGBTQ community in Thailand.

Poyd Threechada

When it comes the famous transgender women in Thailand, Poyd Treechada is at the top of the list. She first joined the entertainment industry with the title of Miss Tiffany Universe in 2004. Since then, she has charmed audiences with her beauty and charm. The LGBTQ figure has also starred in movies in China and Hong Kong.

Ann Chakrapong

Beauty meets wealth. Ann Chakrapong is a self-made Thai billionaire, and in 2020 Forbes Magazine ranked her as the third richest transgender woman in the world, with a net worth of 210 million US Dollars. Currently, she’s the CEO and Managing Director of JKN Global Media Public Company Limited. Her success as a businesswoman is a true inspiration to all.

Art Araya

‘Drag Race Thailand’ would not be the same without Art Araya. Beyond being a host of the show, the artist has been serving the fashion industry for more than 30 years, working as a stylist and designer. Few people know that the Art Araya once even worked for the famous French brand Lanvin, and has been sharing knowledge as a university lecturer, too.

DJ Nui

DJ Nui is one of the funniest Thai LGBTQ comedians. He brings a unique humour to the Thai entertainment industry, whilst also starring in more serious Thai drama shows. Pompam Niti

Widely recognised for his role as a TV host, Pompan Niti is a talented producer and actor. He is best know for his very own late night ‘Talk with Toey’ show, as well as co-hosting the popular lifestyle travel show ‘Toey Tiew Thai.’

Jenny Panhan

Jenny Panhan is a prominent host of GMMTVs shows, and also takes on the roles of comedian and actress. One of her parody videos of Katy Perry’s ‘The One That Got Away’ became so viral that it even caught Katy Perry’s very own attention. From there, Jenny Panhan’s fame has only grown.

Jeab Lalana was crowned Miss Thailand in 2006 before making her debut in the entertainment industry. Aside from working as an actress, the beauty queen is also a fully qualified doctor working in the emergency ward.
