ICONCRAFT, located on the fourth and fifth floor of ICONSIAM, and the third floor of Siam Discovery, is our ultimate destination for Thai craftsmanship.

When it comes to creativity, Thai artisans have left no stone unturned to inspire us with their creative thoughts and local wisdom to shed a new perspective on Thai craftsmanship. Following the same philosophy, ICONCRAFT is proudly collaborating with Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles to bring their first pop-up store to Co-Creation Space, Level 3, Siam Discovery. Craft lovers, are you all ears?

Continuing to keep the legacy of textile and handicrafts alive, the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textile is a royal initiative by Her Majesty Queen Sirikit Queen Royal Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to present Thailand’s first dedicated textile conservation laboratory. The historical building that has now become a textile museum, is home to artefacts, is an education centre, and continues to be a national cultural treasure for many.

What’s so cool about this new collection?

From stylish crafted bags and fashionable old-school accessories, to delicate jewellery pieces, this special showcase by ICONCRAFT allows us to zoom in on some of the exceptional handcrafted items, never like before. Think, a thermo water bottle decorated with parang patterns and inspired by the batik collection of King Chulalongkorn. Another beautifully crafted piece, the “Parang Kembang pattern frame” is a famous batik patterned piece that served for the aristocracy in silver and gold. We also love the “Rana Queen” umbrella piece, which brings out elegant patterns when exposed to water or rain. The hand-embroidered clutch bag curated with motifs of insect wings is another unique piece to flaunt.

Jewellery lovers definitely shouldn’t miss out on the contemporary Thai-style pieces, each of which have been inspired by the gilding technique to indicate the way of life of the hill tribes.

These gorgeously crafted items could be the perfect holiday gift for your friends and family. Something delicate, that is not just unique but also has a meaning and story attached to it.
