Although 2020 has brought no shortage of chaos, one of the things we can absolutely count on is the Bangkok’s food culture. It is not only still alive and well, but also really thriving.

Thankfully, post-lockdown brought with it a truckload of culinary events – one of the most delightful of all, in our opinions, is the MLive Food Market. From 27-29 November from 5-10 pm, the market is back in its 5th edition, taking place by the poolside space perched on the 9th floor of the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park.

The fun-filled, free-entry food festival will feature top-notch gastronomic icons from 18 Marriott International hotels, including the JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok, Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse, The Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok, Sukhumvit Park, Bangkok, Bangkok Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit, Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel, W Bangkok, and the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park — to name a few.

Not only will MLive Food Market make their impressively extensive selection of scrumptious fare from each hotel more easily available than ever, but the event also it extra accessible, considering the friendly price point (from THB 40 to about THB 220 only). For foodies, it’s basically a food-fuelled carnival that allows everyone to get their hands on some of Bangkok’s finest fare.

“As one of the largest hotel operators in Bangkok, Marriott International wants to create a focal point for the community – a place where local residents, expats, hotel guests and our Marriott Bonvoy members can come together, socialise and discover fine food in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. This free-to-enter festival is a great opportunity to showcase our chefs, restaurants, hotels and brands, while also saying a big ‘thank you’ to our loyal customers and the local community,” says Jakob Helgen, Area Vice President, Marriott International — Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar.

At MLive, food devotees can expect to dive right into various cuisine types, such as Thai, Italian, Chinese, American, and more, catering to many palates and preferences. Whether you crave for steamed crab legs from The Silk Road, the Mighty Mo Burger from The District Grill Room & Bar, Italian dishes from La Tavola or even the signature cheesecakes from The Lounge at The St. Regis Bangkok, there’s something to please all kinds of foodies.

The alfresco setting, bean bags, and sun loungers also give out a soulful street food vibe that welcomes visitors with a warm, home-grown ambience. Live music and drinks are also available as well as children entertainment like face painting and balloon art. This makes MLive enjoyable for both kids and adults alike.

MLive Food Market starts on 27-29 November 2020 from 5-10 pm on the 9th floor at the poolside area of Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park. For further information, visit their site here.
