If there’s anything we love more than a luxury brand, it’s a luxury brand with a luxuriously friendly price tag.
In what is set to become the city’s hottest new shopping destination, Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok celebrated its grand opening last weekend, marking the arrival of Thailand’s first Premium Outlets, with plenty to admire.
Located a mere 15 minutes from Suvarnabhumi Airport, it is an easily accessible haven for anyone with an eye for big name brands. We recently got a chance to experience the exciting new shopper’s haven. Here’s why you need to put it on your must-visit and must-shop list.
A special international collaboration
Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok is a special project by way of a joint venture between Simon Property Group and Siam Piwat. Whilst the latter is renowned in Thailand for its prestigious retail developments, the Simon Property Group too is the owner of premier shopping and mixed-use destinations across all North America, Europe, and Asia.
Is it a match made in retail heaven? It may as well be, as the Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok joins the family of other Simon Premium Outlets properties such as Woodbury Common Premium Outlets in New York City, Gotemba Premium Outlets in Japan, Yeonju Premium Outlets in South Korea, and more.
Now on to the best bit: the brands.
Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok is proud to host an exceptional selection of over 200 sought-after luxury and high street brands with up to a 70% discount off regular retail pricing.
Several labels are debuting for the first time in Thailand, with 60 brands available exclusively at the centre. Some of our favourite luxury brands unveiling an outlet concept for the first time here include Burberry, Balenciaga, Bally, CK, and Hugo Boss, amongst others. They will be joined by other leading names such as Salvatore Ferragamo, DKNY, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Alexander Wang, Marni, P.S. Paul Smith, Proenza Schouler, Stella McCartney, and more.
Beyond these, shoppers will also find the country’s largest Coach, kate spade NEW YORK, and Skechers stores, offering an unparalleled selection of products. For those with an affinity for streetwear, you can also count on American Eagle, Mango, Dr. Martens, Camper, REPLAY, and more, to inspire.
Most notably, for sportswear aficionados, Nike is opening a 1300 sqm store at Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok, with special exclusives and a locally-designed art mural. Adidas too is opening a large stand-alone outlet within the premises, including both the brand’s most popular collections. Other specialty sports brands debuting here include Asics, Vans, North Face, and Grand Motorsports, whilst tech brands like Garmin, Fitbit, and Nintendo are also worthy to shop.
If you’re looking to revamp your home, definitely also check out Ralph Lauren Home and Calvin Klein for prime essentials, and do not leave before stopping by the massive EVEANDBOY beauty hotspot that was conceptualised especially for Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok.
If you’re shopping and about to start dropping, do not fear: a perfectly suited selection of food and beverage is also available here. Between coffeeshops and casual eateries, there’s also a uniquely designed food hall by Food Republic, featuring an array of both Thai and international dishes.
There’s something very relaxing about the whole experience at Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok, and this is very much an ambience its developers were going for.
The centre features both a beautiful and spacious green outdoor landscape, with bustling fountain features, children play areas, and a large amphitheater. Throughout the premise, there’s a sense of local artistry, with floating overhead art pieces and sculptures by revered Thai artists.
Worth the hype
With long lines of excited buyers outside many of the outlet stores and happy shoppers with hands full of shopping bags strolling the centre on opening day until today, there’s no denying that Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok has become the most exciting shopping destination about town.
As Michael Tang, Managing Director of Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok, describes: “The centre will create over 1000 jobs, which will make a strong contribution to the economy of Thailand. The centre marks a new dimension in the country’s retail scene for the local Thai and at the expatriate community, and it will reinforce Thailand as on the world’s most popular tourism destinations.”
As we found out for ourselves that day, too: Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok clearly proves well worth the hype.
Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok is open daily from 10am to 10pm. There is a free shuttle bus service available from Makkasan Airport Rail Link, located only 15 minutes away from Suvarnabhumi Airport. It is also easily accessible from the Bangkok-Chonburi Motorway No.7, Exit 5, Lat Krabang.
