Since more and more of us are jetting off to cooler climates for the winter holidays, Thai designers have been getting more and more serious about autumn/winter style than ever. Never before have we seen so many great coats, hoodies, and denims in collections created by Thai fashion brands. And, for a country that’s so used to designing for the hottest of climates, we do a pretty neat job with outerwear too. Keeping with some of our favourite fashion trends of this autumn/winter season, these three Thai fashion brands are the ones we’re keeping our eye on for the cooler months to come. We’re loving the cool and collected neutral tones from Canitt, the new modern twists on denim by Asira, and the logo-mania streetwear of this season’s hottest collaboration between Thai fashion brands Matter Makers and Carnival.
But the best thing about these Thai fashion brands and their autumn/winter collections is that they’ve still managed to keep that all-seasons versatility in their designs. The pieces are all about layering and “mix-and-match”-ing which means you’re set for both the warmer winters of Bangkok as well as the cooler climates when abroad. It’s the flexibility we Thai travellers desperately need, yet couldn’t find from any local designers. Until now. Here, see our favourite Thai fashion brands that are taking on the layering game this season.
Under the name ‘Code Cool’, Canitt are embracing the added style opportunities when it comes to lower temperatures. Using durable fabrics and calm, collected neutral colour palettes, the brand have produce some excellent layerable pieces. There’s a mix of sweet delicateness and cool 70s vibes in this collection, encouraging wearers to have a little fun mixing and matching pieces. Meanwhile, the earth and nude tones are a holiday for the eyes in itself, taking us away from the over-saturated digital world of neons and sharp synthetic colours. The colour palette also makes the pieces very easy to layer, which is one of the fun styling processes that come only but during this cooler season.

As popular as the material is, denim can actually be quite challenging to style well. Sure, you can stick to your old pair of standard jeans. But if you wanted to up your denim game a little, we highly recommend turning to Asira’s new collection this season, ‘Denim 101: Hall of Mirrors’. Asira have transformed this time-old material into something a little more elegant, a little more versatile, and a little more fun. This winter, why not layer on top a denim bralette? Or play in a flare jean jumpsuit? Eccentric, rebellious, and flattering — Asira’s collection gives us so much more opportunity to layer denim than we’ve ever known before.

Layering, of course, can mean more than just materials. Thai fashion brands Matter Makers and Carnival show us that layering in fashion can be twice as fun when two brands layer with each other. The streetwear and multi-brand sneakers store brands have joined hands to launch one of the hottest fashion collaborations in Bangkok this season. Their collection features layerable streetwear pieces that can be worn all year round. We love their focus on this season’s craze for logo-mania, and the Carnival logo (that “C” intertwined with a star and a planet ring) is both cool and adorable. Combining that with the Matter Makers new bandana-inspired print and we have a seriously eclectic, daring, and exciting collection to bring a bit more energy to the usual winter collections.
