Best Dressed in Bangkok: March 2019

Who else feels like March took a whole year to get through? Looking back at our schedule, we’ve had non-stop opportunities to select our most stylish people this month. Starting from the Supannahong Thai Movie Awards earlier this month, we’ve also scoured through the tonnes of Spring Collection launch parties to find the best dressed Bangkokians this month. Then, there was the hugely glamorous SIRIVANNAVARI fashion show and, oh, who could forget – Bangkok Fashion Week wasn’t so bad for stylish finds either.

A lot of our favourite looks embraced refreshing spring colours, put their own twist on this season’s biggest trends, and also supported Thailand’s own brilliant local designers. After much debate and stressful decision-making, we’ve eventually narrowed it down to five best dressed Bangkokians for March 2019. So, here they are!

Aokbab Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying

Tall and with a rakish frame – the model and global star of Bad Genius, even when glitzily dressed, inevitably makes anything look louche and relaxed. This month she’s shown that she looks just as at ease in evening glamour as she does in toned down shabby-chic. We loved the seaside theme she had going on at the opening of La Boutique, as well as the rejuvenating raspberry hue that she pulled off with effortless class. Then there was the ridiculously cool outfit she put together for a casual day of exploring. We don’t know which is better: the bandana and glasses combo, the Year-of-the-Pig honouring emoji t-shirt, or the super chic Chanel cross-shoulder vanity. What we do know is that the whole ensemble wins March 2019.

Suquan Bulakul

At the Supannahong Movie Awards, Suquan won more than just a cinematic accolade. Her twist (literally) on the giant bow trend this spring was masterful to say the least. The bright and youthful yellow somehow also manages to look glamorous and mature at the same time. Custom made by Asava using Paktongchai silk, the gown is a wonderful statement of Thai charm, warmth, skill, and friendliness.

James Teeradon Supapunpinyo

He may be the best Chanel Man we’ve seen in Bangkok and can definitely pull off a top-to-toe Gucci look, but the young actor is one of our best dressed this month because he’s the undisputed king of graphic tees. Always with a cute print or a band logo, his t-shirts are eye-catching and smile-inducing. They make a bold fashion statement while still being timelessly and universally approachable. James clearly knows how to make style choices that fit perfectly with his charisma and ‘schoolgirls’ crush’ looks.

Nattasha Bunprachom

There are so many things we appreciate about Nattasha’s fashion sense. Of course, there’s the fact that her impeccable bone structure helps her look good in anything. The model, actress, and Instagram sensation is also often supporting Thai fashion designers, not to mention also being a great poster child for them. But for us, it’s not so much how she dresses well but why – she’s clearly a huge fan of clothes and has a real relationship with the pieces she chooses. Combining elegance with fun and a real passion for fashion, Nattasha’s often sporting a smile when modelling. And that’s a failsafe accessory for top quality style.

Polpat Asavaprapha

The creative director of Asava group has dressed pretty much everyone who’s ever been on our Best Dressed lists. But Polpat doesn’t just arrange fantastic wardrobes – he wears one too. Leading the game in relaxed tailoring, his signature look involving cool sunglasses, smart loafers, and an artfully billowing overcoat just simply never fails, and makes him the best advert for his own craftsmanship. Obviously, the style master behind all style masters deserves a place on the top ranks.
