There are few settings that more aptly represent the modern, intelligent, and effortlessly chic Gucci woman than the classic environs of the grand Biblioteca Casanatense, an 18th century library in Rome. This must be why Alessandro Michele, the luxury Italian brand’s creative director, chose it as the perfect backdrop for their latest campaign — a selection of stylish new watches and jewellery, presented by the multi-talented actress and singer Chris Lee.

An avid bibliophile with a great admiration for libraries, Michele creates an atmospheric ambience by positioning the bold, contemporary presence of Lee, who also happens to be Gucci’s brand ambassador in Asia, against such a historic literary site. What brings the two together, however, is a shared theme of timeless elegance. And so, the campaign follows Lee as she explores the library and its leather-bound publications in a constantly changing series of fashionable ensembles, while showcasing the new collection of accessories.
A smattering of diamonds set in white or yellow gold define the exquisite pieces of jewellery, which includes a Gucci Flora necklace with a matching bracelet and rings, as well as a pair of GG Running earrings and a ring.
Among the watches, the Gucci Grip stands out with its striking yellow-gold PVD case and three windows depicting the hour, minute and date. The bracelet of the timepiece, also in yellow gold PVD, wraps elegantly around Lee’s wrist, making a sophisticated statement. Another watch attracts with its contrasting elements of a green-red-green stripes dial, gold bee motif, and white, calf-leather strap. And a more masculine version comes through in the shape of the GTimeless Automatic with its bulky steel-bracelet and black onyx dial.
