Since Emilio Pucci is known for its signature breezy silhouettes and kaleidoscope colours, it hardly comes as a surprise that the Italian fashion house turned to the Caribbean for its latest inspiration. At the Spring/ Summer 2019 fashion show, Pucci unveiled its fresh collection, featuring whimsical patterns and juicy palettes that bestow tropical vibes in all their glory and splendour.
The models strutted the runway in asymmetrical pieces including foulard blouses, wavy shirt-dresses and pleated skirts, all of which are made from delicate fabrics like silk and nylon, ultimately giving them a sense of lightness and an airy movement to them. Drawing influences from the seascapes, the glistening sun and swaying palm trees, the ethereal designs were spotted with loose sleeves and flowing hemlines, featuring macrame beadings and raffia fringes for a dynamic effect.
Along with intricate graphics and embellishments, the sprightly colours such of sunshine-yellow, cherry-red, mint-green and sky-blue also made a major statement at the runway, which are by no means for the shrinking wallflowers. Meanwhile, the monochromatic-hued pieces can also be mixed and matched with our daily outfits, but still impart balmy accents with their whirly motifs. Perfect for workwear wardrobes, some of sophisticated creations like trench coats and tailored pea jackets were incorporated into this collection, too.
While you may not be spending your holidays in the Caribbean, you can always capture the spirit of the island escape without leaving the city’s limits, as this newly introduced collection from Emilio Pucci may just offer a tasteful retreat after all.
