With a strong passion for arts and ladylike silhouettes, La Boutique’s creative director Tow Patcharawat Trakarnsantikul is known for flattering female figures. For the Autumn/Winter 2018, he drew influences from a famous art nouveau painter, Alphonse Mucha, whose painting style was based on elegant compositions of sensuous curves and natural colours. With these elements serving as his inspiration, the new collection results in incredibly impactful pieces, all of which pay homage to the concept of ‘The Feminist’ that aims to inspire women to explore their hidden identity and have a strong sense of who they are.
To mark the official launch, La Boutique recently hosted an in-store event at Siam Square One last week, inviting a whirlwind of local stars to preview its latest creations. Along with the fresh releases, the Bangkok-based fashion brand also introduced its six Thai muses – including Nida Vanida Golten, Mint Pattarasaya Yongrattanamongkol, Moo Chulalux Piyasombatkul, Bow Mayada Susri, Jingjing Warisara Yu and Srei Vacharaphol – who all showed up in the brand’s glamourous ensembles to express their choice of style. From feminine lace and fierce fringes to sophisticated tweeds, these ladies offered sartorial cues that just might inspire your outfits for another season. Scroll down as we present you with statement looks from the collection launch.
Nida, a Thai-Norwegian fashionista, opted for colourful outfits, which reflected a mismatched palette of blossom-inspired purple, deep-navy blue and aqua green all in one fell swoop. Meanwhile, the sheer fabrics and flared silhouettes also softened up the overall visual, offering breezy yet eye-catching accents.
Mint definitely did a fabulous job at the event by choosing her ensemble with a satiny shirt and feathery black dress, which exuded a brilliant mix of femininity and power. Not to mention, we also love how she topped off her outfit with a newsboy cap, adding an extra cool touch to her urban-chic look.
A young celebrity with a keen eye for fashion, Srei was spotted in an exceptionally voguish look with a white chiffon dress layered over a strapless red sheath, featuring flamboyant ruffles and a bow-tie neck for a finishing touch. The curve-hugging silhouette also helped define the waistline, adding visual intrigue to her elaborate-looking outfit.
For those who favour an ethereal, whimsical style, you’ll adore this stunning selection of pieces from Moo, which captured ladylike elegance with a floating, floor-length silhouette and delicate crochet details. The combination of dreamy shades like silver grey and pastel pink also helped bring the overall aesthetic together.
One of our favourite fashion models, Jingjing took the brand’s vintage-inspired numbers to an entirely new level as she fearlessly paired a checked blazer with a tiered jumpsuit for a clashing effect. The playful layers essentially created a free-spirited vibe and added a contemporary flair to the whole look.
Bow proved that sophisticated, classic fashion can be surprisingly chic with her monochromatic ensemble that managed to make a splash despite a lack of bright colours. Featuring textured tweeds and draping frills, this look demonstrated both style and poise, effortlessly.
