Tonight, the French brand will unveil its Fall/Winter 2020 ready-to-wear womenswear collection. As has often been the case since Maria Grazia Chiuri became the Maison’s first female Artistic Director, the collection will likely revolve around feminist values and art. On Instagram, Dior shared a couple of teasers that certainly allude to it. In them, the couture house’s les petite mains contemplate the significance of phrases such as “I say I” and “When women strike the world stops.”
Collection aside, Maria Grazia Chiuri also has a penchant for turning the runway into a canvas to showcase feminist art. Most recently, Dior’s haute couture show featured the works of Judy Chicago, the famous American second-wave feminist art. For F/W 2019, the Maison tapped on Italian artist Tomaso Binga, using her photography series to adorn the runway space; the artist herself also gave a poetry recital at the show.
Who will Dior shine its spotlight on next? Find out when the F/W 2020 runway show goes live at Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday, 25 February at 2.30PM (Tuesday, 25 February at 8.30pm Bangkok time) in the stream below.
